Any truth to this article?

There was a small article appearing in the middle section of the Edmonton Journal this morning that the FLQ is starting to make noises again.  Apparently, RCMP are investigating rumoured threats of mail bombings on Anglophone territories and establishments on February 15 and March 15.   History repeating itself?

Here we go again.  Even if untrue, that black cloud still seems to be lingering over a majestic city that has had its share of violence and terrorists.  It is no way to live.

Say it isn't so.

I believe we are all entitled to our opinions , we seem proud of our Verdun backgrounds, ( I am for sure ) and we have all found some semblance of a decent life, all in different directions obviously , some peoples opinions are every bit as valid as others , having experienced different life experiences , however when Les uses the word Balance , it makes complete sense to me , so lets keep discussing and enjoying each others way of life , we don't have to agree , we are VErduners, n'est pas  Jimmy

Totally agree about balance in one's life --- physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, intellectually.    Sigh!  Metalman, please stop trying to convert me to your way of thinking.  It ain't gonna happen.  Just accept that my values/interests are different.  I respect yours.  You seem to deftly know how to change topics in mid air.  I never for a moment doubted your worth as a hard worker or family man.  We come from similar backgrounds, so I know.  But what has that got to do with our conversation on Trump, China and the metals market and writers?  And you are opening another  hot topic re working mothers vs stay at home moms.  Heck, no, I ain't going there!  Ha!  See Mike's post 195 re difference between dialogue vs debate.       You know if you find those CDs and books on wealth inspiring, and you are happy, then who am I to say otherwise?   But don't make assumptions as you did on your post to RDM.  Those questions on your #190 post are your fears and insecurities and not his or mine.  Address them to yourself.   Say that because of your fears re the future of our children, poverty in old age, etc. you are reading those books and leave it at that.  Didn't you say you were a millionaire anyway?  So why worry?    Les, what I learned in the playgrounds of Verdun is that you can  try to be nice,  diplomatic, even try to walk away, but  when you still keep getting jabbed then you have to sometimes lower yourself to the level of the jabber to get the message across...and even then.   There is only so much one can take.    And Linda, there  you go getting your tail in another knot.  Slumming?  Who cares!  I belong to  several groups.   Used to belong to the other one also but after you've discussed the weather and cream puffs, what's left?   I'm not a hypocrite.  People who know me, know I am honest and frank and say it as I see it.  I don't bull____  I'm quite transparent that way.  Don't understand why you have a problem with that!  :-)   Now, off to another writers meeting and hopefully  you all have a wonderful Sunday of dialogue!  Lovely day here.   Dolly

looking at all writing to me, i didn't read nothing a all
you should put your ime in good use
get yourself a camera, i'm sure they have future shop
in edmonton?
then spend your free time on taking pictures of your new home town, post them so others can see what
edmonton's all about
talk about durfilinger's new book
he's a verduner a writer like yourself
help the fellow out?
sales and marketing is what durfllinger is doing now
and we verduners should help out were we can.
when durfilinger finds out the vc is helping him out
i'm sure durfilinger would in return promote
VC.
verduners helping out other verduners.
so please sabby do't waste yor time writing to me
and use your skill in better ways at vc.

again get a camera and spend your free time
on showing the happenings of edmonton.

when you go the exta mile you will be surprised
it will come back to from others going the extra mile.

down to someone's level?
if you think i'm on welfare
and i'm a loser.
don't know what i'm talking about
that's cool on the vc site.

i answer someone's question, that's between
us, then others read and think different
and start?

sabby, reads this and thinks its on her??

sabby, is a hard working person
and a great mom, and takes good care
of her husband.
i know if i met sabby in the real world
she would understand me much better as i would
also, its hard to us write and explain?
i met hundreds of people in my life and i know
in the real world this would never happen
showing, explaining, proving results
most seeing with your own eyes
understanding the good and bad points.
all i wanted to tell sabby in a good way
was a person today needs selling and marketing skills
and those books can help to learn those skills.
if you don't think you need selling and marketing skills
to sell your book that's fine.
i would never say to down that persons
level, everyone in this world is important
each one can do something that other can't do?
trump turns your stomach, i get upset at trump
also, he's not tv material, the news media doesn't
help him either.
but there's a good side of him also
and you have to look into this
read his new book and then e-mail me
or like i did years ago if you remember i mailed
you a book, i'll mail you his book and you
would be surprised what he has to offer.
read about bill gates?
i read a lot of his books
warren buffet, bills best freind
warren buffet donated billions to bills wife fund
read his books

One of my Favourite Songs by the Animals (also done well by Joe Cocker)                                                                                       with or without the boots   Baby, do you understand me now
Sometimes I feel a little mad
But don't you know that no one alive
Can always be an angel
When things go wrong I seem to be bad
But I'm just a soul whose intentions are good
Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood
Baby, sometimes I'm so carefree
With a joy that's hard to hide
And sometimes it seems that all I have do is worry
Then you're bound to see my other side
But I'm just a soul whose intentions are good
Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood
If I seem edgy I want you to know
That I never mean to take it out on you
Life has it's problems and I get my share
And that's one thing I never meant to do
Because I love you
Oh, Oh baby don't you know I'm human
Have thoughts like any other one
Sometimes I find myself long regretting
Some foolish thing some little simple thing I've done
But I'm just a soul whose intentions are good
Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood
Yes, I'm just a soul whose intentions are good
Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood
Yes, I'm just a soul whose intentions are good
Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood   May I steel or (for the writers out there)  Plagerize,................just a couple of lines from this song................................................                       Sometimes I find myself , Long Regretting,                   Some foolish thing ,some Little Simple thing I've Done..                   But, I'm just a Soul,.....Whose intentions are Good,                   Oh Lord , Please Don;t Let me be Misunderstood,     ...............................Not neccessary to be grinding while listening to these lyrics ,..........but it can't hurt,..........

DEAR LES

all owners of companies, big or small
need a rainmaker, without a rainmaker?
they are the drivers of a company
no rain you die!!
knowing you for many years now
you have are the rainmaker on the vc site
you have done a great job of balance
you made it work both ways for you
and vc site.
today you are in great demand for major companies
if you wanted that job and the owner seen
how much you put in this site.
you would need a lawyer to draw up a contract.
i always knew you were a rainmaker
great job on balance.

les   you like to hear stories of the past that young verdunites did to build character..   well when i was 10 and  until i was twelve...   i got up at 5am every morning 7 days a week ....   and delivered the montreal gazette ...i did allard, valiquette, and roland avenues.....   delivered them in the frozen montreal winters of old..   well it seemed it was colder back then..   i used to pick up my papers at the bus stop across from the 'nat'..   i didn't have an enclosed bus stop..   it was out in the open..   had a bench to sit on to 'fold' the papers so i could throw them to the galleries for all on my route...   i'll never forget sitting there on a 20 below temperature morning with the wind coming off the river...   then i trudge up and down the street with that wind in my face...   as i did my route..   that built character...     oh ya..   i also used to stalk women outside stienbergs...   "can I take your order mam"...   the worst part of that 'business' was you didn't have a set price...   the client decided the wage..   and it was always the ones with 3 big boxes that you had to carry to the 3rd floor...   and you get a friggin dime...   i learnt a valuable lesson from that...   always know the wage up front...LOL..

Metalman, I have worked for the benifit of lots of needy people, yes in Verdun and Ndg. etc. not blowing my horn, however your thoughts bother me when you challenge others to meet your standards, maybe others standards are not your own , but they are their standards, so down off of the high horse and live with the feelings of others , no one is right or wrong on helping others, but to be challenged to do so , removes the idea of being in a position to help others , I am proud of your contributions as I am of others here in V C , relax and enjoy each other I say . hang tough Jimmy
