The new tramway in Montreal
The new tramway in Verdun ...
Maybe some VC members will be interested in this project: a streetcar in Montreal including Verdun and Nun’s Island.
JMH this line appears to service Verdun quite well,..especially Nuns Island,... is this a pipe dream,...or is itt something that is going to happen,....if so what kind of line will it be,.electric ,.gas,..rail,...???
Les, For the moment, it’s a project of the municipal party Projet Montréal. But you know that Mayor Tremblay also has his own project. It will be an electric LRS/streetcar (similar to the LRS in Toronto or Vancouver). http://www.pacificmetropolis.com/2006/10/vancouver_stree.html BTW, we can see that the project includes a bridge btwn Verdun and Nuns’ Island. (Verdun had plans for such a bridge for at least 50 years; Mayor Edward Wilson worked on that project in the 1950s). JM
