Photos from Angel's in Orangeville
Attached are the photos from last Sunday. Unfortunately, I did not take any of myself.
I second that emotion Linda. I haven't seen real smoked meat that high since Columbus sailed the ocean blue! (Okay, so I exaggerate...) And real fries... none of that cardboard stuff! Hey Margo, so all that take out...what did you take out? I'm envious. Looks like you all had a great time! Did any of you have problems identifying one another? Dolly
Sabby glad to see you're curious also. I want to know if there were any "Verdun" stories that perhaps you people could share with the rest of us. And......did you pick straws to see who got to take home the doggie bags? Cheers.
Take-outs were for my husband, daughter, granddaughter and Grandson plus others that Eric put in front of me.Good deal there Buy a special $6.95 for one sandwich and the other for 5cents. Margo
Looks like it was a great get together, awesome smoked meat......hope there is another one and I can make it.....so what if it is 600km from home! m.p.u.
Dolly: It was a bit of a challenge identifying each other. Fortunately everyone (except Willie) showed up on time and we were able to quickly weed out those imposters trying to nefariously claim Verdun ancestry. Actually identifying each other was a heck of lot easier than trying to post those photos. If it wasn't for my son-in-law, you would be looking at hand drawings of the event. Gord Gibbons
Gord, The pictures turned out really good. Next time we'll make sure your picture gets in there too! We had a good time and of course the smoked meat was delish. Talk to you soon and/or see you soon, & hi to Karen. Carole
Bill: I sent you the photos tonight, likely noon in Hawaii. Dave: I'll send you the photos as requested. Gang: Why didn't the photos show up like everyone else's, especially Ralph's. Seeing as I did not make the cut on the Orangeville photos, attached is one of my daughter and I from 2001. I'm off to Montreal tomorrow. Scheduled to play golf at Dorval on Friday. I should probably bring scuba gear instead. Gord Gibbons
Gord, I would suggest billy boots, and perhaps the golf course has modified carts, to be more like hovercrafts......anyone remember them from Expo 67 ? m.p.u.
Gord, It was a great time. I am glad that you took the time to get us all organised. We will have to do it again for sure. Hmmm maybe NEXT time, I will be there on TIME!! Thanks to everyone for being so damn VERDUN friendly
From: multipurposeutensil Sent: 6/5/2006 6:38 PM I will be going to Toronto on June 23,24,25, and plan on visiting a good friend, maybe an Aunt, take some pictures....any plans for another get-together in Orangeville? Too bad I could not make the first one. m.p.u.
Ralph: I'll be out of town for the next 10 days, although I will be around for the weekend of June 23/24/25. Give me a call earlier in that week (905-796-1901) and we'll try to arrange a get together. Gord Gibbons

Nice pictures Gord. Steve
Thanks, Gord Eric, I'm "eating my heart out". In my book, that last shot ranks right up there with MPU's Cherry Blossom. Cheers
