Moffat avenue was named in honnor of James Moffat, à retiree who lived in a beuatiful residence on that avenue and LaSalle Boulevard.

Carolyn, Here is the photo of the James Moffat house at the corner of Moffat and Boul. Lasalle wich I took saterday. That's my station wagon parked in front. That is certainly a very majestic looking house and no wonder you still remember it. It would be interesting to know the complete history of this house, from the time it was built and who owned it besides James Moffat, past and present. I will see if I can dig up this information at the SHGV. Guy
GUY, I REMEMBER IT WELL, ACROSS FROM THE PLAYGROUNDS IN MY DAY, THE ALEPIN HOUSE ,CHARLES ALEPIN, WAS I BELIEVE AT CORNER OF BRAULT AND LASALLE, MY GRAND FATHER CHARLES BENNETT WAS EMPLOYED THERE LATE 40,S AFTER HE RETIRED FRON CNR. HE WAS FATALLY BURNED IN A FAULTY FURNACE FIRE THERE, AND DIED AT VERDUN GENERAL. SO THE IMPRINT IN MY MIND YEARS LATER. A BEAUTIFUL HOME. CERTAINLY NOT TUDOR. STYLE. MY DAD ,WHO WAS IN REAL ESTATE, AS YOU KNOW, VISITED ALL THESE HOMES AND HAD STORIES GALORE TO TELL. THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR HISTORIC INPUT TO THE SITE.
