I did not live on Brown Blvd. but do know about the Park as I stayed there at my cousin's place way back in 1953 for about a week as my Mom was in the hospital, Uncle George and my aunt looked after me. It was in the winter and played hockey there and in the summer when we visited,. played basebal My cousin was George Holdaway.
My wife Heather lived on that street 1944 to 1960 . 1067 Brown across from the park.. John
My gramdmother and her family lived on Brown, across from the park. Do the names Sanders or Minchinton ring a bell? Kelly
my wife lived at 1067
My cousin Jimmy Hill lived on Brown and I lived at 1273 Godin in the early 60's while we were at Riverview Elementry.
I lived on the Brown Blvd extension better known as Brault. (Near Banentyne) We skated at that park and I still dream about the brick building where we laced up our skates. Had a ball in Summers on those swings, too. Is Riverview School the public school that was on Godin near Banentyne? I had friends that went there in the sixties. The Schurrahs. Judy Schurrah was one of my best friends. She would be about 52 now. We hung out with Lucy Veso (can't remember the spelling). She went to the French school at the other end of Verdun.
I'd like to add, we moved on to Brault in 1966 or 1967 from 614 Egan. We lived on Brault until March of 1970 then moved to Kingston, Ontario. What a culture shock!

Hi Duck ??? I too lived on Brault ,and used to go skating at the same rink on Brown Blvd. I can remember walking up the street ,by myself, after schoo,,and skating until supper (it was dark by then) or until I was too cold! There is nothing better than a skating rink outside (as can be attested to by the turn out and T.V. viewers at last weekends' Buffalo and Pittsburgh game) ANYWAY....... I think I'm older than you ,but we probably did skate at the same time at the same rink?? My name is Sharon Spence I lived at 649?? Brault. B.F.N. Sharon

Hi, Sharron. Although I went to St. Thomas More, I remember playing over at the school yard at Riverview on Godin. Do you remember the nice house behind the school property? I always thought it was rented out to the janitor for some reason. In the mid 60's there was a family that moved in there by the name of Bonner or Boner. They had a son that was about 14 or so with long blond hair. I think Judy Schurrah had a crush on him for a bit. One of these days I'm going to get a scanner and scan my old Verdun pics and post them on this site. Susan Poirier Van Duinen (Kingston, Ontario)
They were the Bonner's. Judy Schurrah was in my class at Riverview from Kindergarten to grade 4.
Hello ___Duck, Susan ,I'm not sure how close by this would be to where you live,.but it might be worth checking out this site for a deal on scanners & stuff....... http://www.usedoshawa.com/classified-ad/4312088&category=computer-printers-scanners .........but there are also some great deals on new scanners that can do a lot more than just scan,.but this ad was one I dound in a quicke search........ Good Luck & we'd love to see all those Verdun pics,,,,, this link is the main one for UsedOshawa site ( sorry I didn't see a used Kingston site,.....but there is also these other sites too: UsedThunderBay.com UsedSoo.com UsedSudbury.com UsedHamilton.com UsedToronto.com UsedOshawa.com UsedStLawrence.com UsedOttawa.com .......Good Luck ,...and of course HF&RV
bonner had some wild parties, while his parents left to the cottage on the weekends his dad worked as a janitor the house is connected into the school, wild parties till the parents came back. bonner got a harley with no electric start, few times he would bang on my door, to kick start his bike for him. the stories are endless, next time in verdun i'll get the pic of the place, park still there.
Was that Gordie Bonner?
Would you be the brother of Brian Harrison? Pat (Mees) McLean, Edmonton AB
Hi Pat, Yes, I am the younger brother of Brian who still lives here in Toronto and is in good health. He is 62 and I'm 59. I am not familiar with my brothers friends as the "kids" were not allowed to tag along with their older siblings. If you wish for me to relay any info to him, I would be honored to do so. I am sure he would get a kick out of hearingf from long lost friends....so many years ago. rgds Keith Harrison
Judy Scurrah is my sister 1023 Godin older brother Malcolm
Minchintons were my granny's cousins, the children of Moses Minchinton and John Francis Minchinton. Maude, Marion, Coletta, Clarence, and some others. I imagine your grandmother would have been talking about the Minchinton girls, if she was young in the 30s, or perhaps Clarence's kids, if she was young in the 50s. I don't know his kids names (if he had any), but everyone else was girls and married, so the name pretty well disappeared in Verdun.
