"Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin dead at 44...

Wow, this was a shocker. May he rest in peace. Sad that he leaves a wife and 2 young children behind.  Some people may not have liked him but I did for the simple fact for all that he did for wildlife conservation. He always had the best interests of whatever animal/reptile he was handling in mind at all times too...

My hubby  caught a stingray just 2 weeks ago while we were away on Ocracoke Island. He always removes their stingers before he releases them back into the water.  They grow back.

Hi Sharon,
I too was saddened to hear about Steve Irwin's death. I always enjoyed his
programs on Sat AM, although at times I thought he took to many chances with
the wild life. But as i saw it his main goal was to teach children about
wildlife and the neccessity of Conservation. He died doing what he loved
best. But leaves behind a wife, who supported his adventures and was on most
of his shows, and his 2 small children. He is a great loss to animal as well
as marine conservation.

I understand S.I. was raised in a nature conservation park run by Irwin senior. His father taugh him a love of nature. Also read he was as enthusiastic off camera as on. What we enjoyed about his passionate demeanor on TV was his true nature. Rest in Peace Steve.
