I think my brother was in the mynd infection. We went on to form Lady Luck, which he is still doing. I will ask him next time I see him. Jim Redmond is his name. I can't think there were 2 Mynd Infection. By the time I joined we were called T.F.B. Then Blackberry Brandy Band then Lady Luck. That was the 70's.                                 Barry

I remember Generation Gap & Alabaster Villa Well. I only knew Alex, the Keyboard player in Generation Gap, but Alabaster Villa played a few dances at VHS from what i recall. They were both excellent bands.   What about Walpurgus Knight? I thought they were great too   Bill (Willie)

Hi folks ... Alex here. Former keyboard player for the Generation Gap back in the 60s and 70s. What a treat to hear that folks still remember us.   There is some talk about the GG getting back together for a reunion performance in Verdun, sometime in 2008.   We're spread all over the continent... John Frainetti is in Calgary, I'm in Michigan, Keven and Michael Gault, Dave McAuliffe still in Montreal. But, somehow, we'll get this together.   Singing "Happy together"!   Cheers, Alex

Alex   I can rmember seeing Dave set up his first drum kit at his house on 2nd..is a great drummer. Were you in the group when they played talent show on t.v. Also did you know Danny B when they started out? Just wondering if you know how he is doing to-day?   Lad

Hi Lad, no I wasn't a member of the GG when they played on the TV talent show, nor did I know Danny B. I think I joined sometime in 68 in my junior year in VCHS. Maybe one of that boys in the band kept a record.   Dave is a great drummer. He could lay down a funk beat that never quit. An excellent rock drummer.   Alex

Lad, Alex, Willie....   Also nice to know people remember our band, Alabaster Villa. We played at a number of High Schools and also had a semi-regular gig at the Y on LaSalle Blvd., as well as various dance halls throughtout Montreal and Quebec and we had a couple of very talented musicians in the band....Jimmy Oliver and Scott Lang. As posted here not too long ago, Scott passed away quite recently. We certainly had a terrific time playing back then......and one evening played at a sorority party at McGill. Now, this one was a bit wild...but what a great evening/early and late morning.   If anyone knows where Jimmy Olvier might be theses days, please let me know.   Glen

Cathy.   If you have an email address for Joh, could you forward it on to me? I'd enjoy re-connecting with him after all these years. Glad to learn he is still in the music scene.   Glen

Calling all ex-fans and groupies of The Generation Gap...you know who you are!   There's a rumour circulating out there that The Generation Gap will be getting together for a one of a kind reunion sometime in mid to late June 2008.   Just hoping that someone, anyone, out there would be willing to share some pictures of the guys at work.   So, if you have ANY pictures to share, please contact me here.  We would be eternally grateful.   Thanks

Hi I have all the info and pictures for the different genesis of the Generation Gap starting off with the original band named the Gnomes featuring Danny Beck, Brent Meldrum, John Frainetti, Mike and Kevin Gauld and myself, Dave McAuliffe. The name was changed to the Kotics but that's a story that only Robin Williams could explain with some justice so we changed the name to The Generation Gap. The line-up changed with the addition of Charlie Clark, Kirby Edgel, Alex Bielajew, John and myself. Although we did have a sax and horn players in the band this did not last long. Played at various venues around Quebec, Ontario, new York and Vermont. Were the headliners at the 1968 Verdun Winter Carnival and played the Youth Pavillion at Man and His World. The Last time the band played togerher was in 1969 at Angrion Park with the line-up of John, Alex, Kevin, Mike and myself. Now for the good stuff. The band is planning a Verdun Reunion 40th. Anniversary get together in July of 2008. It will be a 60's theme reunion and to quote Mike G. it will be a "come as you were" party. You can get more info when you contact me at generationgap@hotmail.com So spread the word and hope to see you all there. Dave

GLEN!!! If there is a band reunion as it seems to be shaping up to be you have to be there too-I can get in touch with John Adams through my friend Glenn Hall... I have tried to reach you at yr canoe addy but no luck-write to me at    cattywhiskers@hotmail.com you will get  me there no problem! Mom is in Piche in Dorval (Alzheimers) and I got my Dad a place down the street from me here in Kingston-I have been so busy taking care of my parents that I haven't had much time to get in touch with the old Verdun buddies....it's overwhelming how much we "boomers" have to do to help our old folks but hey-they took care of US when we were growing up and I remember almost causing heart attacks to my parents when I was out and about in the 70's and 80's!!!!hee hee talk soon I hope...xxoo cathy Wilkins
