Well left a little , late, pedal to the metal and got there on time, for us oldtimers there is a new arena attached to old one, called Denis Savard Arena with a tree planted in front in honor of Scotty Bowman , in we went and it has not changed at all except now a passageway between the old arena and the new one, our game was played in the old one, first thing I observed was a Canadian flag and Quebec flag flying at center, that went with my black jacket with canada flag and CANADA printed below flag, the arena is the same , 20 sections with about 100 seats in each section , so seats 2000 , with standing room guess we can say 2,500 ,cement up front of sections , 11 rows high , geez forgot how large it is , it is well maintained and I enjoyed it immensley , we won 3 to 1 , so back again Tuesday, then left and went down church , first , at corner of Lasalle , on left esso station then Tim Horton's , the old homes that we were used to , to the corner of Wellington and church , then left and along wellington to Eagan then down to Verdun avenue and back to church , down church to Aquaduct and onto highway and back home, visited Third avenue of course, you know Verdun is in great shape, I drove down the lane and goose bumps came as I relived all the fun back then , jumping off of gallerys into snow piles etc, Its amazing those old flats are still in great shape , talk about memories , hope you enjoy this , Jimmy hang tough
What part of Third Ave did you go to, between Verdun & Wellington or

Leaving N D G heading east on Sherbrooke Street to Girouard right on Girouard to St James left on St James to St REmi at bottom of hill , right onSt Remi and all the way down to Canal , over canal into Verdun Up Galt to Lasalle blvd left to Auditorium will let you know how long it takes me during rush hour Jimmy
Well its not over the canal but under the canal , to church then up to aquaduct and home free to Auditorium, made it in 15 minutes this time, and yeah , we beat Verdun 5 to 1 , we played in the Denis Savard arena tonight, and all Verduners would be proud , this tournament is in a class by itself, well run , clean and lots of fun , when wife and I came out , drove up Church, tried to get coffee in Tim Horton's but it was so busy, kept going , boy Verdun still does not seem to sleep, had a look at the hospital de Verdun , we used to call it the butcher house when I was a kid ,Les , the lane behind the church between galt and Church is still there, but now the fence is about 20 feet high, guess they found out your short cut and fixed that hahahaha Hang tough Jimmy p.s. another game tomorrow night will have another look around jim
We beat St Lambert 7 0 last night so now we get into the tough part of the schedule , lose and your out , you know pals, I have been in and around Verdun a lot last couple of weeks and its such a strange feeling, like as if I never left and I left 50 years ago, it just has not changed , and the buildings are in such good shape, was telling my wife , I could move back here , just love the feeling , went along bannantyne last night to Lasalle blvd around brown I guess up to Natatorium which is the same as it was then along LaSalle blvd to Auditorium , fantastic , hoping you all can see it through my eyes will keep you informed . Jimmy
