Does anybody remember the Leblancs who rented boats at the foot of 1st ave. They also sold double icecream cones for a nickle (see my pictures). This would be in the 40s and early 50s so only old timers would remember. Perhaps photos are available.

The Leblanc's were one of our favorite hangouts, many a times we rented a row boat and went out to Nun's Island, there were very few habitants on the island then. Later on, we graduated to these little power boats called skiffs, they bounced all over the place, with a long rope and a piece of plywood cut just right we were able to be towed all over the river. Staying on the board, in the kneeling down position was a challenge in itself. Maybe that is where I got my Sea Legs and yearned for some time at sea Bob g.
