Does anyone remember back in I guess the mid sixties that the milk truck used to come to the local park playgrounds and would give out free milk? Fantastic to get the chocolate, yum.
I'm not sure who sponsored the program but us kids sure loved it.

I remember in public school the teachers used to hand out vitamin pills (perhaps they were cod-liver oil pills), and at lunch you could get a free carton of milk. Guess these kinds of programs have gone by the wayside now.
About the milk issue again. This happened in the late 40s and early
50s as well. By the time the mid sixties rolled around, I was 30 years old
and long gone from Verdun.

Hi 1jwest, They sill gave milk out in my sons elementary school last year. He went to LaSalle Senior Elementary ( Laurendeau Dunton ). He got milk everyday I believe. I got milk everyday in St.Willibrord in the 60's. Dannyb
Hi:
I played basketball every summer for years at the
playground between Ist and Willibrord. We always had free milk every
day. First time I've thought of that in over 50 years.
