Sandy How well I remember some of those times. I thought they would never
end. I imagined being grown up was all fun & games in those days. What a
time of beauty. A time of discovery. We also skied on Habitant, & Avila as
well. I think our "Shack" was on LaFleur St. Some of the guys I skied with
were: Brian Green, before he became a Teaching Pro. Ronnie Venne, another
guy we used to call "Alphabet" I suppose because of his long name, although
I believe his name was Dennis Ostravitch, but, please don't quote me on his
last name, I may be wrong.... Bob Geary was with another bunch of Guys from
Verdun as well. I recall going over to their place early in the morning &
Bob would always be in the kitchen cooking breakfast, I think it was a labor
of Love for him.. The Lover boy's would never be at the hill till later on
in the day. Those of us who loved to ski would arrive at opening & ski till
closing..... We all would go to a club & drink & dance & laugh till about
11pm then go home to rest. The real deal was skiing for most of us..... This
was around 1960 till about 1966.... For me those were the good ole days.....
Somewhere in those days I discovered K.F.C. & every Sunday night we'd stop
somewhere in Ville St. Laurent & have some.... The traffic was grim, or the
weather was not always agreeable, but, every weekend throughout Winter we'd
go up North..... There was a bunch of us from LaSalle & Verdun & the Point,
I never knew all of the names, but the times I remember, not to mention the
GIRLS, However gentlemen never, ever kiss & tell...... btw the U.S. is
presently ahead of Sweden 2-1 at this time.....
Norman

It was Dennis Ostopkevich......that you are thinking about
Would you remember a Ski Club called the SEVEN SINNERS in St Sauveur, we were formed in the early 50;s and ran till the late 60;s . Some of us were waiters at Nadon's and the INN. That is when a quart of beer cost .45 ,so you would serve 2 for .90cts and get a .10cts tip. you had to serve alot of beer to make $100.00which we did on some weekends One of the crazyest things we did was to buy a used hearse, cross on top and everything. Idrove it down a side stret beside the INN and the town cop TOM was directing traffic by the church, he saw hearse stopped all traffic and watched as I drove up to the INN stopped and 18 drunks fell out of thehearse he wasen't too happy!!! My wife sold Beer out of the back of it at our yearly GOLF TOURNY those were the days
