The first time I ever had Pizza, was from a Restaurant on Church Av. called
Trevi's Pizza. So I became hooked on Trevi's Pizza. The only Pizza that I'll
eat today is Pizza Hut. I find the rest of the Pizza World is out of step.
But then, that's only my opinion......
The first time I ever feasted on a T Bone Steak was at a Restaurant on 5th &
Central in LaSalle called Therese's it was owned by a Man named Marco, I
believe he went on to make Millions of Dollars, not in T Bone Steak, but in
Spruce Beer..... I still can taste that Steak.... My...My...My///
Montreal still has some of the best Steak Houses on the Planet....

Yes Norman I remember Trevi's I think it must have been the first pizza place in Verdun because that is where we used to order from and we lived at the other end of Verdun. I remember ordering once on Good Friday and my Dad had a fit because we were eating meat on Good Fri. Had to pull the pepperoni off L0L Glo
I too Remember Trevi,..my brother really like the place,.and I Remember their Pizza's being really scalding hot ,....you know the type ,where you try to take a bite,...and you have to keep on chewing as it burns your face off....hahahahah That grease was hot baby,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Another place I Remember going to was at the Corner of Hickson & Wellington....for 3am Pizza ....the place was originally caelled 'Mikes' ,but later with a new fancy sign,it became 'DaMichelle'....... they also had a room at upstairs for receptions,..you entered off of the Hickson side,... another Verdun guy used to be a DJ there at times,...Lenny DeMarte.........had the largest record collection I'd ever seen (at least at that time)........ I think we tried all the pizza joints,...but really liked Rex's,...we would phone him & after a while ,he just recognized our voice, and didn't even take the address,..hahahahaha You know your ordering a lot of Pizza's when they know you by voice,....and when really hungry (that's code for drinking alot of Beer).....and you didn't want to wait for delivery ,we walk over & pick it up...............Great place,,,,,,,, Oh Here's a Trevi Ad Btw:.......Still in business, and as their ad says 'depuis 1961'.........I would have thought tey were there longer, but that's what there ad says,....they were almost directly across the street from Houle's Bowling Lanes.....(roughly) ......Soiree KARAOKEE,................must be some of you out there that would get into that.........hahahahah
...Norman(Synergize),.......I Remember at 5th & centrale,in Lasalle, was a Chinese Restaurant at one time called Golden City ? then later changed to Lai Lings,..............I ate more than my share of EggRolls in there,......accompanied by a cool one or two,...especially after leaving the '50club',....or Bar Cinquante, if you like........... One of the Rourke-frew gals worked there at one time ,I think it was Ann, but it could have been Brenda,or Claudia......I think later on she worked in the Place St Tropez,...........in the MiracleMArt Shopping Center (70-ish)? ....I wish I had of tried the Steakhouse,...but it was before my time I guess a few short years can make a big change,......Funny when I think of Spruce Beer ,the name Marco always comes to mind,...and my favourite Spruce Beer Shop,..at Mountain & NotreDame (since moved around the corner),.was called Emile Bertrand's then called Silver's (cause of the grey haired gent who bought it,for a spell) kept the original name on the building Btw: then two gals bought it ....and one day while visiting Montreal I asked one of them if the Spruce Beer was 'Marcos'............and she nearly had a fit,........hahahahaha Seems as she explained ,they make their own..... I did not know that,....I thought it all came from Marco's..............YIKES hahahahahah but I like the two gals ,.they are quite good ,and they had a standing deal, when you go in and order a couple of Steamies(or whatever)& a Spruce Beer,.....you could drink all you like,.......especially when I told her that I had been going to that store since I was a little kid,...& even now whenever I visit Montreal,I make a point to go there (it's been a while now,.....and all this food talk ,makes me want to visit,,,,,,,,Oh well hopefully soon,........................How's that for elongating a simple response.....hahaha
