Howard Cooper
Did anyone remember and/or know Howard Cooper? Graduated VHS in 1958 & was my father. Since he passed on in 1969 when I was only 6yrs old, any memories would be appreciated. He had a sister (Lois) & brother (Wayne).
Hi EarlCooper,...................the years you mention of your Dad's grad,..would make me think you have a strong chance of finding out a lot of information,...as those are a lot of the years that get some attention here on Verdun Connections,....Maybe you can let the members know ,where he worked ,or the name of neighbours,,.I would think the early 60's time frame should produce some helpful hints & promt some memory banks out there,........Good luck,........and Let's see if we can be of some assistance,.................
Hi Earl, I knew your Uncle Wayne, I lived at 158 Gordon Ave.,,,,we were almost neighbors! The Ramages lived upstairs from them. Wayne and I were almost the same age,,,I think Lois was in the middle. I think that they moved in the late 50's. Some of the fellows that would have been close to his age are Rollie Chater, Fred Strike, Norman Westlake, and Bobby Snyder. Hope this helps. Sorry to here that your Dad passed away so young. How is your Uncle and Aunt? Where are they now,,,,,say hi to them,,,,,though they may not remember me. I am now living just outside Vancouver BC. Good luck in your search!! Best regards, Mike Stark
Thanks Mike Any "Bits" of information are always of interest to me. My uncle Wayne married Linda Birdgenaw in the early 70's & moved to Napanee (Ontario) where they (& My grandparents) bought a cattle farm & raised two boys (My cousins). My aunt Lois is married & lives in Burlington (Ontario). She also has two boys who still live in Quebec. I"ll mention to both Wayne & Lois about you. Thanks again, Earl.
Hey Mike I finally spoke to my Uncle Wayne last night. He does remember you & says Hi. He also mentioned a childhood friend of my Dad's: Roger Kierney? Do you remember him? Earl.
Hi Earl, That name rings a bell,,,i'll have to get the memory banks going on that one. Seems there was a Roger that lived across the lane from us. Could you send me your email address and I'll get back to you once I do some digging,,,,k. My email is mdstark2@shaw.ca Mike
Hi, You may have seen this already, but there's a VHS 1958 graduation picture of your father. Under picture albums, page 2, VHS Class of 1958 (Page 16, upper r/h corner). Cheers
Thanks Linda I did notice that. I'ts amazing how much he looks like my brother in that picture. I've since forwarded it to both my brother & sister. Did you happen to know him? Earl.
Earl, Sorry, but I only started at VHS in 1958. I probably would have been too much of a teeny bopper for him! But, keep on trying and asking. You never know where/when information might present itself. Keep on keeping on. Cheers.
