Anyone remember playing spin the bottle or post office?
Post office was fun, but I preferred a different game
It was called PONY EXPRESS!!!!!!
It was something like POST OFFICE
The only difference was with PONY EXPRESS
There was more horsing around!!!!!!!!!
There I said it and I'm glad!!!!!

Winston, Does that mean you had to kiss a horse??????? and Is this part of your "confession"???? I anxiously await an answer. Yours truly, Miss Goody Two-Shoes
Winston.....does the following quote from The Catcher in the Rye describe your horsing around experiences?
Sex is something I really don't understand too hot. You never know where the hell you are. I keep making up these sex rules for myself, and then I break them right away. Last year I made a rule that I was going to quit horsing around with girls that, deep down, gave me a pain in the ass. I broke it, though, the same week I made it - the same night, as a matter of fact. ~J.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye, Chapter 9 Dianne

Dianne. I don't know. I do know that you have to treat them right. Also be faithful. TRY and I say TRY not to take unfair advantage......whatever the heck that means. I guess in other words try not to hurt their feelings. Be monagumus(?)

Linda. To tell you the truth. Although I did drink, I may have had one to many a couple of times. I don't think I ever did anything I didn't remember.. BUT then again if I did have one to many, and forgot what I did, I wouldn't know it would I. As has been said many times, beuaty is in the eye of the beholder. Maybe my eyes were glassed over a few times. If they were horses, at least, HOPEFULLY, I made them feel good. I sur hope I didn't make an A** out of myself.....They do say confession is good for the soul.....but I wonder who actually said that.

oh..Winnie,Winnie,Winnie......Pony Express ??Never heard of it, must have been in your day! Spin the bottle was fun,and we used to play a card game named 31 on the front porch, eat chips and drink cokes, and hope there was enough change left to put that penny in your loafer... Remember the trouble we got into at Sankus Store on 3rd, we would charge chocolate bars to our Moms bill, and when it was time to pay the bill,we held our breath..I think the choc. bars were about 5 cents back then? No one ever knew what happened to Jimmy Miller from 3rd,eh? later, cookie
Cookie. I haven't heard about Jimmy Miller since he and his family moved up north of Montreal. I know some of us went up to visit him one day and that was the last I ever heard or seem of him. I know he lived at 842 3rd Avenue. Cookie.. I made up the Pony Express game. Trying to get a laugh. Hopefully we did. But my confession still stands.... Winston Allison

Hi Winnie3ave & Cookie3261, Did the Jim Miller you know ride motorcycles. The Jim Miller I know from Verdun was really into motorcycles and raced them competively and later on owned a Honda Dealership in Lachine. I know he lived on the Avenues and I believe it was on 3rd. Gary Victoria, BC
Hi Gary in Victoria, This is cookie in Vernon..notice the similarity in Verdun and Vernon.....born in Verdun and end up in Vernon..... Have no idea if Jimmy Miller rode any motocycles..we moved from 3rd when I was about 14 or 15 yrs.old...to Allard Ave.,then to Lasalle..so never knew what happened to many people. It is great that we can all connect up now, even though we are old coots......huh? cookie
Cookie, Verdun / Vernon that's pretty close kinda uncanny. Well I got to know Jim many years after I left Verdun. Jim and I would be pretty close in age I'm 61 so I don't know if the Jim Miller you guys know would fit into that age category. Jim lives in Dorval and I still speak with him on occassion. So if he is the same guy he's still alive and kicking even after having a pretty serious motorcycle accident about a year ago. I lived at 1045 Valiquette from the mid 50's until thre early 60's and then lived on Moffat for a couple of years. Been out here since 1997 and love it here on this Island in the Pacific, sounds romantic doesn't it !!!!! LOL Cheers, Gary Victoria, BC
Gary. Thanks for the info. The last time I saw Jimmy Miller was probably 1954, just guessing. So it could be him or not. He did have a younger brother, but have forgotten his name. Thanks Winston Allison

Winston. Spoke to Jim Miller and he remembers you and your brother Bumpy. Jim has 2 brothers and 2 sisters. His mother is still alive and well as are his siblings. As I mentioned Jim had a serious motorcycle crash from which he has miraculously recovered to the point that he has returned to playing Old Timer Hockey in Dorval. Doctors had told him he wouldn't be able to do that kind of thing. He also is back riding a motorcycle. Hard guy to keep down - I told him he only has 8 lives left and that he'd better be more careful. LOL. Incidently Jim's crash occurred while racing on a track north of Montreal in a senior racing circuit. His racing career is over so he says. Jim, incidently is 65 years young. My connection to Jim was through Amateur Radio we are both Licensed Ham Radio operators. I mentioned Cookie but I didn't have a real name to give and he didn't recognize the Cookie nickname. By the way when the family moved from 3rd they moved to St Laurent but as Jim said his Mum was a Verdun girl and didn't like St Laurent so after a few years the moved to Lasalle, not quite Verdun but close enough I guess for his Mum!!! I gave Jim the scoop on the VC site and he should be checking in. Gary Victoria, BC
Hi Gary in Victoria, This is cookie in Vernon, Jimmy Miller will remember my brother very well, they were childhood pals,my brothers name is Wayne Carlin, and I am Sandra, we lived a couple of doors down from The Millers 818-3rd..I am sure Jimmy and Wayne played hockey on the same team when they were Kids. It would be great if you mentioned my brothers name, If it's the same Jimmy Miller, then he will remember us. cookie
Here you go Cookie it is indeed the same Jim Miller !!! Verdun Connections at work !! Amazing !!! Gary Victoria, BC Hi Gary,

Jim
Please say hello to Jim for me. He lived across the street from me. I live at 835 3rd avenue, and he lived at 842. Thanks winston Allison
Winston, consider it done. Jim should be checking in soon. Gary Victoria, BC
Hi Gary, Thank you so much for the info on Jimmy, you are right,VC is great ! We have been looking for Jimmy for sometime now and finally located him..he can't run away from us now! Tell him a big hello from me and I still recall his Mom,. it's wonderful to hear she's doing well at 85 ! I wasn't aware Jim had a crush way back then, we must have been the ripe old age of 9 or 10 yrs old? I will phone Wayne and tell him you located Jimmy and see if Wayne recalls the best fish&chips in town at Jimmys house on 3rd. He will be so surprised that Jimmy has been located. Thanks again cookie
