Alouettes Win
Montreal Alouettes, beat toronto,to get into the Grey Cup Game,....
they will either play Sask. Roughriders,....or the BC Lions
(who you cheering for MaggieMck............hahahahaha)
Yes, go birds go! I'm finally able to get back on. I had a hard time replying to messages for quite a while. Oh well, it's back in order now! The weather for November has been quite mild although rainy & overcast. No big snow yet which means it's good for me with the long drive to work. In 2 weeks we have our Santa Claus parade in Erin, & then Doug & are I are going to see the Radio City Rockettes in Toronto. Exciting! A nice pre holiday season event. Have a great day everyone! Claroleca
Hey Les, What do we do now, Lions or Als???? Dilemma, love BC but in the heart a Montrealer and of course a Verdunite. Solution:- first tie game in Grey Cup history, I don't think so. May the BEST team win ---- GO ALS GO - GO LIONS GO Gary Victoria, BC
Right you are Arbutus (Gary),....Funny thing is I usually don't follow the CFL,thast intently during the year,.but I have to admit that when i do see the games ,I tend to lean towards Montreal (a strong connection, for some reason),.....but reality tells me that after a huge collapse in the mid-season,resulting in the coach resigniing (by request I suspect),.....and the longest losing streak of the teams history ??,...I think that BC has the edge,...but if they get to Dickerson quickly, then that could put the edge back in Montreal's court,.........what to do??? I just hope it's a decent game,..which I have to admit ,that over the years the Grey Cup ,usually turns out to be a better game than most Superbowls (which are as you know ,mostly SuperBlowouts, with a few recent exceptions)So I will ride the fence,...(like you) and say Go Als Go,....& Go Lions Gohahahahahah ....................................................................(psst: I'm leaning towards Montreal,.......but not brave enough to put money on it).....hahaha
Hi from Winnipeg The Grey Cup Party has started. Was at the MTS Centre last night along with 5,000 other fans to see Kenny Rogers perform. He still sounds good but I hope he gets a refund from whoever did his last few facelifts. He did a lot of his old favorites. He did Bo Diddley which brought back fond memories of the Esquire Showbar. Bo Diddley, Frank Mottely and all
A group of Montrealers is jouneying west to pick up a certain grey up. I have every confidence that said cup will be here in Montreal on Monday. I asked if they needed my help but they said no. Probably felt my cane would slow them down. Ed
Wayne F, You mention the Esquire with Bo Diddley and Frank Motteley the two trumpet man. If you remember, Their bands used to switch every half hour with no stops. The incoming band would pick up the song that the retiring band was doing. I remember one time Frank Mottly was trying to get off but the vocalist, (a rather large woman) kept the song going and going for about twentry minutes. He was p'd off and when she finally quit he said "Fat bitch" Unfortunately, he was too close to the Mike. She heard it and gave him a crack with her bag. Whatever she had in the bag cut his chin. Nevertheless, the music was always great.Ed
That's a tough one! Living in BC now for a quarter century this is my home but there something about routing for your team with that youthful exuberance we all know about. It always stays with you. I guess I won't know for sure who to cheer for until the first kickoff.
I received this earlier and thought I'd share with you: They came west in the coldAnd were talking so boldBut those Montreal fagsWere broken down nagsThey silenced our roarIn Two Thousand and FourBut we buried the pricksIn Two Thousand and Six!Leooooos!!!
I don't think it was any big surprise,to anyone,BC did have the better record,.Montreal started off the season fine,...but then completely collapsed, had their coach step aside (health reasons ??)but I have to admit I did not watch the whole game,as there were several NFL games on during the day,.......but the Als do fill there stadium all year long,Next year they will have to show some real improvement,to keep those fams in the seats,BC played the game they knew they could I guess, and didn't fold,......BC Lions the Grey Cup Champions,of the 94th Grey Cup Game..................................................................................................................................

Well, it looks like I don't have to keep it a secret now that the "home team" has "bowed out". Go Birds Go!

Esquire Show Bar. The first time I saw Frank Mottley playing two trumpets, I figured I was smashed and seeing double. I had a few nights like that.
First Quarter is over and Als are down 9 - 0.
Now they are playing football! 19 - 12. 14 minutes left in the game. Is there time to make that comeback?

Aw well, like the redneck coach said in the two team league, "At least we made the finals." Ed
