Fire 2nd avenue Verdun.
Apparently, there is a big fire going on in Verdun,on Second avenue close to Bannantyne.
Latest, from the online Montreal Gazette. Verdun residents forced out by fire The GazettePublished: 5 hours ago An overnight fire in Verdun forced 40 residents from their homes and caused major damage to buildings on 2nd Ave. The Montreal fire department said the fire started on the rear balcony of a building at 886 2nd Ave. and quickly spread to the roof. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control quickly, but one of the buildings suffered major damage to the roof. Some of the residents will be able to return home today, but at least 15 will need to find another place to stay until the building can be repaired. The Red Cross was on the scene this morning helping residents make alternative arrangements. Two firefighters suffered minor injuries, but none of the residents was hurt in the blaze.
