Hi all,
I've been to many, many concerts through the years and there's only about 3 that I can think of at the top of my head that I've missed that I would love to have seen is:
Bruce Springsteen
Jimmy Buffett(came close,sold out)
U 2
Wendy

Hi Wendy Yup Bruce is one I missed..and had an excellent chance way back when.Tickets on sale night of show in Forum.DUHHH. John Mellencamp.. and Led Zepplin--or Hendrix... Lad
Hi Wendy
I too am a Jimmy Buffett fan and have been for a number of years. I didn't actually see one of his concerts until 2 years ago when he played in Toronto. Besides the concert its the people that he attracts. The day before the concert fans had brought their trailers and were camping in the parking lot, they make a real event out of it.
Too bad you missed out but I imagine down south the tickets sell out very quickly.
Bob
Hi Bob, lucky you. The concert I'm referring to was about 13yrs ago or so. I don't know if you could buy tickets on line back then. Didn't have a computer anyways. Tickets went on sale at 9am, I snuck away from work and was there by 10. They were sold out. His fans are called Parrot Heads by the way. Wendy
Different subject here. Just wondering how many "here" were at the very first Expo's game at Jarry park in 1969? A bunch of us from VHS had tickets for the game....just a sensational sunny day....and the "S'pos" won. Guess the fake ID's helped as we were able to buy beer at the park. Some things only happen once in a lifetime.....

i was at the springstein show back then, i remember it being an excellent show, one of the if not the longest shows i've seen someone perform.
Glen We went to the Expos parade downtown when they came home for first game..Did you see that one? Myself and Kent went to the first game also....sat in the bleachers which would become Jonesville...that first game Mack Jones won the fans over big time..Think it was one run game...let me ask you this who did we play? Think it was the Cards.... Lad
Hi Wendy Told you I missed Mellencamp..well just found out he is playing ACC in Feb.Going to try..good tickets looks a bit steep but hey I dont want sit in with them..... Lad
I was there, Glen. Called in sick that day (with many others) when I worked for Northern Electric. Rgds Ron Chapdelaine
Different subject here as well. Who was at the 1st game of the 72 Canada-Russia series at the Forum? I won the privilege of purchasing 2 tickets in the Greys for $7.50ea. Raffeled them off at Northern Electric for $100 - thank god!!
Hi Lad, what and where is ACC? Wendy
The ACC is downtown Toronto. I saw Rod Stewart there in the spring. Good show. Claroleca
Wendy ACC Air Canada Center Home of the Leafs and Raptors... Looks just like the Bell Centre inside... Saw Rod Stewart there couple of years ago too.Not the same show Claroleca saw. Lad
..with no where near as many banners......................hahahahahah hf&rv
Les Right on ......they always plan their Stanley Cup Parade first week of the season... man I am surrounded here in Leaf Country....Starting to see more Bleu Blanc et Rouge appearing..most be more of us on the move.... Must say the Cup banners in ACC are nice they have actual huge picture of the Cup on them with the year...The ones for the players retired have a huge image of them on them...must say they look good. Lad
Touchez (I don't know how to do e-accent aigue on my keyboard) Les - les Canadiens sony la!! Rgds Ron
They have to have Huge Cups on them cause te only people Alive to Remember them winning a cup all wear glasses,....the new kids think thhose are just streamers.............hahahahahha I always said we had to move from the Forum cause the roof wasn't strong enough to hang that much stuff from............hahahahah HF&RV
Hi Wendy To get back to the original subject, over the years what was your favourite concert? Bob
Thanks for the info, Claroleca and Lad. I've been gone 20yrs and haven't been to the Bell Center neither. Most of the concerts I saw were at the Forum. Wendy
Hi Bob, that would have to be Bob Dylan and the Band. Went both nights. Wendy
Hi Wendy, the ACC isn't that old. I think it replaced Maple Leaf Gardens. There are many concerts I would have loved to have gone to. Tickets were always way too expensive, then I was frightened to go in the crowds as well. I did see U2 & Tina Turner when concerts were held at the CNE. Last fall we were at a concert in Belleville - Burton Cummings & Randy Bachmann, for a small town they have been bringing in some good groups. When I was 16 I saw the Bee Gees and David Bowie at the Forum.
Woodstock
Try again.
This cartoon Bill reminds me of the GM ad for their Chevy Venture Van, where the couple start out young hippie-ish, long hair etc etc ,....and they morph through life ,chamging & aging along the way,.and the kids start to appear,......then the 'next' thing you know they are in a new Venture Van with seating for 'lots' & they have a bunch of kids,.and they look at each other ,like 'How'd that Happen'............... goes alonmg with your cartoon,......'What a Strange Trip it's Been" hahahahahah Good One Biking (SecondAve) Bill Have Fun & Remember Verdun
I wish I'd seen ,..some of the ones I was at..........................hahahah HF&RV
You where at Woodstock? I've never spoken to anyone who was there. I remember I wanted to go very badly, but was way too young. Wendy
I was at sea at the time.
My bad, I just realized it was (concerts you missed). Wendy
Hi Les, I drive a Venture and I've never seen that ad. I guess it never hit the U.S.
Wendy. I was also at Woodstock. I am told I had a very good time there!
Don't lie, you were too young.
Summer I graduated from VHS...went with a couple of other guys and it was before starting at Dawson College. We went to Lake George for a night before heading to Woodstock. Some very fond memories of that trip!

Yup the one thing I always thought was funny,.was something my brother said years ago,......... That if everyone who 'said' they were at Woodstock, was actually at Woodstock,......there would have been 2 million of them..........hahahahahah they didn't even sell that many copies of the Album HF&RV
Glen Woodstock......nice...who did you go with. Only 2nd person I met who said he was there. We talked it over but figured too late to go and maybe not going to such a big thing...DDUHH Lad
Remember prior to Woodstock,.there was supposed to be a 3day sort of Rock Concert,.( I think it was to be in or near Levis Quebec),...and it turned out top be a huge 'mudfest' as it just poured for the whole time,.... I Remember a friend of ours heading to it,... Fred Fure, ( elevator guy).... this was the year or so before the big show at Woodstock,....... Also there was ,what was billed as the longest continous Rock ( Pop Concert,as it was advertised) & it was held in the old Autostade,...it ran for a whopping 12 hours or so,.with a very young The Who ,.as one of the many bands that played that day,.another was Mitch Ryder & the Detroit Wheels, Dean Hagopian was one of the MC's ..........as was a few other local DJ's.............. it was (at the time ) the largest Rock Cocert of it's kind, ( a claim I would think was used everywhere,probably........hahahaha) but these were all forerunners to the 'New Era' in music YIKES HF&RV
Les Remember that concert being advertised...remember the mud stories and hearing the concert was a "washout". Lad
I'm sorry Glen, I keep thinking you're my age, but you're around Pete's age. I guess you must have been around 18 at the time of Woodstock. Wendy
Hey Wendy Yup you are right Glen's an oldtimer(haha)..Hey Glen I remember when you owned the first Corolla I ever saw..think it was yellow mixed with blue..blue being the smoke it pumped out from the oil..I liked that car. Did you take it down to Woodstock?Remember you telling me at Barry's(Verdun Fish and Chips) that the rings let go which was normal after less than 20000 miles. or so. Lad
Lad. Yeah, that Corolla was a "mean machine". And I should have listened to you more carefully about the rings. Luckily, we did not take it to Woodstock as we were in a couple of fender-benders while there. The traffic was incredible, to say the least. And the substances being used made for some very erratic drivers. Heading to the annual Verdun Xmas Reunion this year? Glen
