Online ,could make for hanging chad dificulties,.wouldn't it? hahahahhaand the old fashion Ballot Box Stuffing ,.could become a thing of the past.but it could rekindle the old adage Vote Early & Often,...............hahahahabut what would happen to these good old strait forward Ballotts?.....................Nope I'm not sure about online stuff yet.............. hf&rv
Hi Shirley,....I think Frank did use that saying,....but I have a thought that it may have been used by another Politician,.However I'm not sure who,.but You read my mind ,.I initially was going to credit old Frank with it..............I'm sure most wouldn't mind.....hahahaha He was a Character, and I did read where he did use that phrase (but I thought ,it was poached even then)..................... but I have no objection with us crediting Mr Hanley with the phrase.................................................. (afterall he is one of Ours) hf&rv
Les now this is a fact - I heard it with my own ears when I was about 11 - they chose my granny who had lived on the same street in the west end for 30 years to be chief returning officer. The polling station was in our house and one of the fellows who had often had a bit of help here and there from Frank had come into vote - my mother happened to see him - well she was more than shocked to see that same fellow back more than once to vote. My granny who had lived a few doors down from this guy and new him as well as she knew her own family had had a minor stroke - later that evening after the polls closed my mother asked my Granny about it but my Granny was not as sharp as she had been. In those days the returning officer could sign you in - guess they sure knew what they were doing asking her to work.
