Here is another piece of Verdun history, the George Brown Cartage Company. Can someone tell us where it was situated and the aproximate year of this photo?

Salut Guy, I remember George Brown's company but don't have any info about it. I also remember a "Snook Transport", I knew a couple of people in the Snook family. mpu
Weren't they on Wellington or there abouts.Near Canadian tire or Page and Sons. Steve
About 50 years ago Brown Cartage was located on
Cool Street right at the corner.

Margo, I estimate that this picture was taken in the early 1920s judging by the shape of the trucks. I lived on what was called Bond St (which was changed to Evangeline in 1937), around 1932 to 1935 near Hickson. This street is next to the Aqueduct between Church (De L'Ãglise) and Hickson, then comes Lesage and then Cool. If we look at the photo, there are some Hydro Québec Pylons in the background which may not appear on the posted photo, which are installed along the Aqueduct, however, there should be a dyke behind the trucks which is not in the picture. I will do more research but perhaps some older members may help us determine the local. Guy
Bonjour,
Gabriel
