Snow, snow, wonderful, beautiful SNOW

Good morning ALL, well today we are presently experiencing the first part of
a snow storm that will leave us with at least 30 centimeters of the white
stuff on the ground. I think it's about time that we had some good old
Montreal weather here in Southern Ontario..... Those of you here in the
South of Ontario "ENJOY"....... & remember HOME..............

Tonight we are being hit with a snowstorm, high winds and it is going to change to rain during the night! What a mess for people commuting to work tomorrow. Just heard that Halifax has some power outages and the harbour bridges are closed to trucks and busses....well, I wouldn't want to cross over in a car in this mess!!   My daughter Jennifer is due any day now to have her baby, I hope she doesn't have to go to the hospital in the midddle of this mess!!   Dianne

Hey Dianne                   I thought my roof was going to fly away last night. Still have power though. I sure hope my morning commute will be stress-free.   Earl.

I saw on the news that Montreal was getting a good dump too - my sister lives in a new area of Brossard and her house is brick on the bottom but siding on top and the wind plays hell with the siding - she is always afraid that her house will blow away since she is in an exposed area.

Hi Earl......I live on a hill and it was very windy here too. I have a 125 foot driveway that is snow covered with a crust of ice on top.....my husband is out there scraping it....but all in all I don't think we were hit too hard. I was talking to my brother in Montreal last night and they got a ton of snow and it snowed all day and was still snowing last night at 11PM!! Sucks to be them!!! Dianne

We got another dusting of snow during the night! Right now the sun is shining, light wind and a few flurries and still cold ...when will it end?   Yesterday we drove to Moncton, a 2 1/2 hour drive. All was fine until we passed Truro and were heading for the Cobequid By Pass. For those of you who do not know this section of the Trans Canada Highway, it is a new section of road built about 8 years ago and it goes over the top of the highest elevation on main land Nova Scotia. Winter or summer you can expect almost anything weatherwise..the scenery is quite spectacular especially in the Fall.   Yesterday was no exception...as we drove past Truro we noticed that the sky up ahead of us turned suddenly from blue to white and next thing we knew we were driving in a complete white out...very scary and this lasted for quite a distance. Once we reached the toll both the weather seemed to change again, for the better.   We decided not to stay until the evening in Moncton. We visited my mother-in-law for a couple of hours and came back home and wouldn't you know, we ran into the same thing at the exact same place on the way home. And again we saw cars in the ditch and one was on its roof!   What a day! Today we are staying in doors unless of course we decide to go to Karaoke tonight!   Dianne

Or maybe we'll be going to Bridgewater if my daughter finally has her baby.....   Dianne
