Sandy I have the impression that Anna Nicole was not a well person.....and I wondered at times if she wasn't high several times when I watched the show. It is a sad case...and I don't know why she wouldn't agree to the paternity test.   Dianne

Being the cynic that I am, I suspect because of the enormous amount of money involved, and the fact she was using illegal drugs, she was involved with the mob whether she knew it or not. First her son now her...
Tragic lady no doubt.

Hi Di and Sandy,   Yes, I watch ET too.  It's my vegetation fix.  I get pleasure in knowing that my life is ho hum compared to the life of a celebrity!  :-)  I've been following this story and it is indeed tragic.  I have to agree with you Di.  Listening to Anna in the interviews, she sounded doped up and looked sleepy.  And who is this lawyer Howard K Stern?  And why indeed didn't she want a DNA test for the baby?  If you have nothing to hide....    A wasted life ---famous for being famous.  She was 39.  Drugs and money and in the end, two people dead and a baby without a family.  A rough start to life.  Hope Dannie Lynn does find a healthy home where people love her.    I felt sorry for Anna for a moment but then, you know (here I go again)  we make our lives what we want it to be based on our values.  What's that expression;  You make your bed and lie in it?    Unfortunately, Anna made some bad choices as a young woman because she had no values.  She started out as a stripper, got a boob job and landed a contract with Playboy Magazine.  She became the model for Guess and landed acting gigs in two forgettable movies.  Then she latched on to the old millionaire and according to the Globe and Mail, won $400 million dollars after his death in a court settlement.  Don't know if she ever received that money.  Apparently, after her son died, she couldn't pay for the funeral expenses and sold  photos of him to the media for $400,000.. ET being one because I remember seeing the photos on the show.   Too bad; so sad.   Dolly

Hi Dolly!   I watched ET again tonight and I guess the network makes a lot of money from people's tragic lives. Again tomorrow they will have more on Anna Nicole.....the woman is dead...I wish they would move on.....   You are so right about the choices people make and if only people would stop and think about consequenses. Now there is a little baby in the middle of this horror and the sad thing is that child will probably be exploited by ET and all the other tabloids.   But we still watch it.....   Dianne

Hi Di,   And there's the question.  Why do we watch these shows?  Why are magazines such as People, Us, Hello so popular?  People love to read about other people.  They can get close to a dream this way yet not experience the ugly reality. We watch Brad Pitt in a blaze of photo flashes and he's just trying to get into his car.  We want that glamour, that money, that celebrity but not at that cost, so we read about them iinstead at a safe distance and gain smug satisfaction knowing that our lives could be worse.  Money and celebrity do not buy happiness.     When I was young (yesterday) growing up in VErdun, I used my allowance to buy those magazines like Photoplay, Screen Mirror, Sixteen.  Well, I wanted to be Sandra Dee and Marilyn Monroe, anyone but me, so I followed their lives through those magazines.   It was all about fantasy.  But I also read biographies and remember a book called 100 lives and there were stories about Helen Keller, Churchill ---100 lives overcoming life's challenges, surviving and inspiring me to do my best.  I looked to them as mentors.   I still enjoy bios because there are lessons to be learned from other people's lives, celebrity or not.    Dolly

Not being a tv watcher (unless bribed with promise of popcorn to watch a movie) I probably not as up-to-date as some are on this subject, but what if neither of these 2 guys proves to be the father.  Guess this is the stuff that garners high ratings for the tv stations.

arbutus MSN said...

OK OK, I admit it I'm the father!!!!

happydi2 MSN said...

Hey you guys....and I was just going to say that we, on VC know the difference between fantasy and real life.....   Linda you are right, it makes for high ratings and lots of money for the networks....   Dianne

I was just watching CNN all about Anna Nicole Smith.According to CNN they found drugs in the room where she passed away what kind of drugs that will come out later ?? Howard Stern he claims he is the father, then have DNA done he must have something to hide or he would have it done by now.Every time I saw him and Anna I thought he was lying..ET came right out the other night and asked him if he had anything to do with Anna's sons death,he said do you think for a one moment that Anna would be sticking up for me? I to feel very bad for that little girl.Anna Nicole's Mom said on some T.V show after Anna's son died that Anna could be next why would she say that. When I saw interviews with Anna and Stern she looked like she was strung out on something she was mumbling it was hard to make out what she was saying. You think after her son died she would have come to her senses. But maybe she didn'e have much of a choice with that Stern guy.It will all come out in the wash as we say.It could be all about money. It is a very sad case. deebee

I find the whole thing morbid. The news chanels (American and Canadian) are following it practically every hour like it is the only story happening in the world. None of them seem to care that she's dead, only how much money and who gets the child. Frankly, I don't think she was all that important. Her career was mostly hype. My thoughts.           Ed

YUP!!!!   According to Prince Frederick *%&%**### whatever, age 59, husband of Zsa Zsa Gabor 90, married for over 20 years, he had an affair with Anna for over a decade. When she got pregnant, those other two bums were not even in the picture. I guess she was married to her millionaire husband and met them thru him. She wanted to be adopted by them, so she could be a princess. Zsa Zsa wouldn't sign the papers for some STRANGE reason. If you can't be a princess, you might as well be as close to a prince as possible. I don't think you call get any closer, EH!!!!

I hope who ever gains custody of the little girl is of good character and has  good values and can bring her up to be a decent, normal person....maybe I'm dreaming....... this is a real circus....the child doesn't have much of  chance , hopefully wont turn out to be like her mother. Very sad.   Dianne

Here is part of an article from La Presse today written by Marie-Claude Lortie:   It is difficult to find a sadder story. Sad like a lost civilisation, with derailed values on a daily basis, upstaged  by a celebrity, more pathetic, blonder with large boobs, gets our attention. The moral decay of a bimbo like Anna Nicole Smith is the story in a chapter of the american society, nourished  by a taboid culture, where people believe that life is a mathematical formula wich as based on your bank account, time spent in front of a projector, size of your chest, length of your legs and the amount of wrinkles in your face.   This is only part of  the article but it expresses well the state of the United States of America today.   Guy

I have to put it in the who gives a c....   I didn't care much for her during her life,..not exactly a role model....for anyone, and  unfortunbately for her she was on a collision course with disaster for years .............$$$$$$$ & somewhat fame didn't help her poor soul....

les__f MSN said...

Guy  is there a LaPresse online for theis peproter,.i think i'd like to read tte whole story,..it certainly refreshing to hear a more accurate description & point of view, than the glowing & flowwery drivel spewing from the faces of hollywood & tabloid news types

Ms Smith was a tragic figure no doubt. The media was what made her into what 'they' wanted -- a blond bombshell to sell TV advertisements. What I have seen from her exposure on TV was a insecure very pretty woman looking for love. As a result she craved attention which became her drug of choice unfortunately. Not rocket science here. She certainly got as much attention as one human can tolerate, but love it was not. Big lipstick and large breasts do not make a happy woman. Happiness for both men and women comes from within and has much to do with doing for others, or so I've been taught.
I personally thought her dress was way over the top, no pun intended. I preferred her look without the makeup and especially the lipstick. Tragic figure. Sad indeed. Rip peace dear lady
