Dry Drunks & Martyr's

Although I think it is fantastic when someone with a serious abuse problem, gets help for themselves,.....some weaker of nature need support from groups,....and that's cool too,...get help when you need it,.....but there are some who seemingly like to'Preach' to others about there possible failings & weakness'es,...but usually these are what are described as 'Dry Drunks' ,....there still abusive, and try to dominate where they can ,...and if there's one thing I cannot stand or find more Annoying,.more then a 'religious zealot',.......it's a (so called & self professed) ex-Drunk,......they are self congratulatory, and can't find enough happiness in their own Lives, that they forever try to spew Their own shortcomings on others, and try to make themselves look better by accussing others of needinfg help,,,,in order to camouflage, their still lack of confidence in themselves..............and some I'm told try to be relativelty nice for a (say post or two),....before turning back into the apparent low life snakes who seemingly can never find a way to 'get along' with others and practice your own doctrine of accepting people the way they are...........and try Changing Yourself,....instead of the BS Preaching...........................There are some articles printed on  & about 'Dry Drunks'.......they equate to schoolyard Bully's who generally need a real life 'kick in the ( let's call it  A$$)......and once they get one they sometimes turn a corner & become better & more productive citizens.......of any group , ..................

any similarities btwn this msg.   & your own personality,..may only be coincidence, but a Smart person who preaches lots,..may find it in themself to Practice, ( say some of the 12 steps),what they preach.......           look in the mirror & try to help 'That Person',...because You Can't Fool the Man in the Glass.......................

I seem to remember a number of years ago, that janitor was not a politically correct term.....I don't remember what was suggested...I had thought of ''sanitary engineer'' but I think that was for a garbage man....perhaps ''domestic engineer'' but that might have been a housewife.........does anyone have any recollection of this or am I having another ''old timers/deja-vu'' moment???                            Ralph.

Linda; When I was a kid my Dad was a ''janitor'' for both Emmanuel Baptist Church in Verdun and Malcolm Campbell High School in NDG, and I remember VERY WELL the wide brooms with the green Dustbane sawdust type dust that was used for sweeping.....great memories.         mpu

Because I am using a Mac OS X, I cannot delete my messages once posted
on V.C., or respond to a thread as PC users do. I have to type the
tittle of the thread onto the Subject line of a fresh email, and send
it to V.C. as I would any other email. Sometimes it is posted sometimes
it isn't.
As some of the old timers online are aware, I've been blessed with the
disease of alcoholism. I guess this thread was a cheap shot, but maybe
I''m being paranoid.
You know what the ultimate paranoia is? When NFL is in a huddle and you
think they are talking about you.
Well lets see if this gets posted.
