878 1st Ave (Circa 1950)
Tommy your slice of 1st Ave from Lovell's Directory 1950. Enjoy
Hi Gary, many thanks...I would have been 10 yrs. old in 1950 lol...many names and memories on that list....I also lived in Vancouver for 25 years then came to London, Ont. to care for my aging Dad, still miss Verdun after all these years. I am retired now and thought I might return to Verdun/Montreal to live out the rest of my life..my brother thinks it would disappoint me as I would want everything to be as it was and of course it wouldn't be, he is probably right. Anyway, what is left of my immediate family all live in London so guess I'll stay put. Not too far away to visit and I will do that.
Tommy I often think about going back as you do.Find a nice place in west end and live it out as you said..your brother I think is right would not be the same as it was..I see that now when I go back..but still I get the pull..too bad we could not turn back the clock sometimes.. Take care Lad
I agree,......................... You Can't Go Home Again I thought of doing that ,as well,.20 years ago,.just go back and lease a place for 6 months to enjoy all the things Montreal has to offer,.........but I know it just will never be the same,.........and besides I consider the Westcoast as my home,..................(albeit) the first thing out of my mouth in answer to a question of Where are you from ,..... MONTREAL.................hahahahaha then if the other person says 'Really, where abouts' ...then you know where there from,.and the inevitable burst VERDUN ,.........hahahaha or wherever I resided during my tenure in Montreal....................... We all seem to still be very proud of Montreal:

Gary could you pull up the residents on the east side of 1st around the 421 addresses? If not forget about it. No big deal just curious.
S.A.
Biking, Give me an idea of which year. Gary
Of course -- 1950.
421 is blank, possibly vacant or information was not available at time of printing.
