Riverview School & Godin
I lived at 1273 Godin during the early '60's. I was just wondering if anyone was out there who lived on Godin or who went to Riverview at the same time?
Hi Bigfellow6633,.....I think there are a few members who lived on Godin,.in the years you mentioned,...and i would suspect more than a few attended the same school in the early 60's.......I just caught your post,.before shutting down the computer for a while and watching some late news,.......So Good Luck with that,..i'm sure there will be some responses tomorow morning,..or later on as the case may be........
Thank you very much Gary! I notice that my uncle Clarence was still at 1281 in the directory. When we moved there, we lived upstairs at 1271 and my uncle Jimmy lived at 1273. Then we moved downstairs. My grandparents on my fathers side lived on Woodland. And at this time my grandparents on my mothers side had moved out to Boucherville from Melrose St. My maternal grandparents moved back to Verdun and lived for 3 or 4 years on Riverview opposite the park below the school. They then moved to Manning. Later everyone in the family except my paternal grandparents and my Aunt Mary who stayed on Woodland, left Verdun. But they were the best days.
Hey Big F, I don't know if you're aware that your Grandmother was an albino almost blind. Mostly she saw shadows. I remember one time your Uncle Ken and myself were talking on the sidewalk and she walked right between us. She didn't recognize her son until he said "Hello Mother". She was a very gentle person that you took a liking to instantly. Ed
Ken, Any luck tracking your mum? Are you still in Montreal? If so I know an investigator, retired Lieutenant Detective (was in charge of Homicide Division), who might be able to help. Information such as her date of birth last known address would be helpful if you should decide to further your search for her. Let me know if you would like to contact him. Gary
John, Sorry I was confused, what else is new, used your Dad's name. Anytime just let me know and I can put you in touch with him. His name is Steve Roberts. Gary Mace Saanich, BC
John, I'm sorry, you've told me that before. One time I bought a 1927 Essex, rumble seat and all. I got it for $15.00 because the car dealer couldn't get it to run right. I was driving down the street with the old thing coughing along and your Father hailed me. He said, "Your chokes on" I told him it was off and he said, "Let me sewe." He opened the hood and sure enough the button the dash was pushed in but the cable had bent and the choke was on. He pulled it back and the thing ran great. He was a cracker jack mechanic. Ed
Hi Gary, I just got back from a weekend at the cottage, sorry for the delay in answering. Yes, my dad was a true car guy. He really loved it and worked in and around cars all his life. As a child he ran the sales departments at a few dealerships. Then he was a presence in racing for years. I do miss him and wish that we had a better relationship. I really enjoy learning more about him. Did you know my mom, Jesse Hill (nee Davis)? She was 9 years younger than my dad and grew up on Melrose.

Ed, yes I knew that. But thank you for telling me. By the way, Ken was my father. John

I'm not in Montreal anymore. I am using some other resources to try to find her right now. But I will keep your man in mind if they don't work. John
