Oh man LAURA! That was Leah's baby sis...I remember her and now I remember Philip too! On your Mom's side I just barely remember her brother's but I guess that's cuz I just knew the girls. Is it your Mom or Kathy who is my age, Andrea? I'm 44. Have you asked your mother if she remembers me? :-) Luv, Sharon *
What is your last name? or what was it when she knew you... I think my aunty kathy is going to be 44 on Sunday i'm not sure tho how old I know around there. My mom is 47.
My name back then was Edwards...Sharon Edwards. Your Mom may think my last name was Bennett tho, cuz my Uncle Ronnie Bennett lived on the third floor above where your Mom's family lived on the bottom, in the apartments on the corner of Willibrord and Lasalle Blvd. My grandmother Moran lived around the corner from them at 14 Willibrord and I used to be at my granmother's a lot cuz my Mom worked. There's 2 older pics of me in the photos here if my face might jog her memory, I think I named it "Sharon in Younger years or something. She'll probably remember the small restaurant across the street where we played baseball pinball all the time and bought bags of fries and hot dogs...wish I could remember the name of the restaurant, it's bugging me...lol. I can almost smeel the vinegar we smothered on them. I know it was a one name thing like Johnny's (that "might" be it) or Pierre's or something. I'm not sure if the boy's Teen Haven (for troubled boys) was there then across the street from where your Mom lived, but I remember that I used to sit on my garndmother's steps and listen to this one guy play guitar so beautifully and I'd swoon hehe. Oh man did I really just use the word "swoon"? LOL! Do you have any pics of your Mom now, Andrea? I would love to see some. And if you have any of Lea I would be thrilled to see them too! Even older ones! Anxious for you to get back to me kiddo! :-) Luv, Sharon *
Hey Shar! The name of the little restaurant was 'Danny's', was in one of those shorter buildings that were great for jumping off the roof into snowbanks. Remember the nice wide sidewalk on that corner and the super wall with the ledge about 2 ft up that was great for playing "pops"? I think I spent half my childhood around that corner!
Yup...that's it...Danny's! I can remember my grandmother giving me some change and I'd have enough for a hotdog, fries and a coke and STILL have plenty left to play that pinball game too. Had a blast there man, playing that pinball game. Danny used to give me hell cuz I'd be hard on it and "tilt" the games all the time...lol. My name was on the high score list for a long time and I was just a kid! hehe And oh yesssssss I remember that sidewalk very well. used to skip rope and color the cement with chalk all the time. Of course played "pops" too against that perfect ledge. You just had to watch cuz the windows on the side of that house weren't too much farther up than the ledge. :-P Luv, Sharon *
I will talk to my mom a bit later I will send her your pictures!!! No I don't have any new pics of my mom but I will take some on Saturday at my Aunty Kathy's birthday party and get them developed on disk. I have none of Lea at all! My mom is the one that talks to her I don't really speak to them. ANdrea
That would be GREAT Andrea...thank you! I can't wait to see them! Might your Mom have any pics of the Mancini's at all, Andrea? And please be sure to get your Mom to speak with Lea if you can, ok? I appreciate all this SO much...thank you! Luv, Sharon
P.S. Tell Kathy Happy Birthday from me! Luv, Sharon
I may be able to get some pictures of the Mancini family and post them...however, the last time we were all together was for my nan's funeral so the pics may not be too good!! I have asked my mom to speak with Lea, she's really busy at work lately so she will when she gets a chance. I will tell Kathy you say happy birthday! Andrea
Thank you Andrea, you're a sweetheart. I'm sorry to hear of your grandmother passing way, that's never a happy time. Unfortunately tho, that is what often happens...that you don't get to see a lot of your extended family unless it's at a wedding or a funeral. I'm not being morbid, but I would really still like to see the pics that you do have if you wouldn't mind. Just to see how we have all changed (or not) over the years ya know? Thanks again. Luv, Sharon
Please tell your Auntie Kate happy leap birthday! I didn't forget! Hope you guys have a great celebration!
Here we are!! found the old posts! i'm in the right place!
Laura was recently in a very bad car accident! She could not feel her legs for a few months. She is doing better now, and the hardhead that she is didn't want anyone catering to her. But she got over it and is recovering well now! Lea is now a grandma also! her daughter Sarah who is 18 months younger than me had a boy over a year ago now. I don't really speak to them that much. I now have a scanner, so I will scan some pictures in between changing shitty diapers, cleaning and getting food on the table LOL!!!!!!! Let me know who you wanna see and I will search through the pics and find them hopefully!
Congratulations Andrea! Bradley is beautiful! You sure look like your Auntie Kathy in the recent pictures you posted! Glad you found your way back! I suppose another birthday celebration is just around the corner for Kathy too! Say hi to her for me?
ick maggie LMAO!! just kidding lol...i'd rather look like my mom hehe... I will say hi to her when I talk to her next. We don't talk much anymore, the family's a tad crazy lol... Thank you, I love being a mommy, and Bradley is such a ham. I'm glad I found the group again.
