When I moved to Verdun at the tender age of 12, Shawn Hill was my first boyfriend. I used to sit on my back stairs and listen to him, Jean Guitar and Dwayn pllay "Jerimiha was a Bullfrog" over and over. What kind of entertainer is he? My ex is a musician. And all four of my kids are musically inclined, and can play as well as sing, pretty good considering I couldn't carry a tune if my life depended on it! My oldest daughter is a tap dance teacher, my oldest son is a graphic designer and copeywriter for an advertizing company. So they are pretty talented I guess. Karen was friends with Kelly and Debbie Jones, our next door neighbours. I hung around with Colleen McGaraughty, and last I heard her parents still live on Rolland.

Collee, Debbie Jones is my cousin. If you look at the pics section (Boat Club) you'll see her Dad, Teddy.

Hi Coleen......Shawn Hill is a singer. He played Aultsville Theatre a couple of years ago and I went to see him with his Mom. The show was wonderful! He now lives in Vancouver and just got married last year (for the 1st time). He married a very nice girl from out in B.C. I met her when he came to Cornwall to perform.
Do you live in Cornwall now? When I left Verdun I moved to Lancaster Ontario and if you needed to work or shop even, you had to go to Cornwall! Shawn loved to woo the girls with his singing, but because every teenage boy goes through that stage, it's still weird to think that he is a professional. He played guitar and Dwayne played drums. Well, with him waiting to be married, at least it will probably last forever, hope so. Good to hear good news about people!

Last time I saw Debbie Jones was in 1978-79 maybe. She came to see my sister when we all lives in Ontario. Mr Jones loved my sister Kelly. Mrs Jones used to sing to us kids, sweetest voice.... Mr Jones gave me his actual pea jacket from the navey when I was 16. Had it for years and years. Eddy Jones saw my wrath way too often. He had a mean streak, only thing was I was meaner. Is Debbie married now?? My little brother Shawn was Darren's best friend and they were BADDDDD together. But I wouldn't let anyone touch those two scrawny little trouble makers.

Colleen McGauraghty lived down the street and was the first person I met when I moved to Verdun. I was smack in the middle age wise, with her and her brother Gerry. I lived right on the laneway on Rolland just before Burling. My bedroom window was in the laneway, which was annoying when kids were rowdy. I have talked to her on and off over the years. She was out here in Calgary when I first moved out here. We were cheerleaders together for the black and Gold that played in Crawford Bridge all the time. I have older siblings. Tom was the only one that went to high school in Verdun besides me and my little sister Kelly. Have 8 million cousins all over the South Shore, Verdun and the Point. Bim's and my family are related. Found that out when we were teenagers. Hate to tell him that he was cute as a teenager, but don't want to set his ego off and let him know that he grew up to be a fine looking older man. Kinda Orange County Chopper looking. Now it makes him look like a real dweeb in H/s. Guess that's what the love of a good woman will do.ha ha.

Colleen, You mentioned Colleen McGaraughty. You also mentioned you were a cheerleader with her in the Black and Gold football league. Could that have been the red uniformed RoughRiders? I dated Colleen back then, and she did the cheerleading for my team. I guess I should know you, but.... I was also good friends with her brother Gerry. Stayed in touch for many years, but lost contact with both of them over the years. Those things happen I guess. Are both her parents still alive and living on Rolland? I remember exactly where they lived and used to drop in whenever I was in town. Since I never heard from them any longer, I assumed they moved and stopped going by. Now, I wish I had checked it out. If you ever see or speak to either of them, tell them I said hello. Thanks for shaking up the memory molecules, Glenn
Hey, you weren't suppost to see that!!! But I guess it's true that you aged like fine wine. I didn't do so bad myself..must run in the family blood line. Once I get to a scanner I'll show you. It makes me look like such a hard b och in high school. Though I still don't have my 18" waist I can still boast that I maintained it until child number 3. And my kids bug me about my cheerleading skirt because it cannot fit on my youngest son who we affectionatly refer to as stick boy. See, you obviously picked the right woman, because if you would have had an unhappy life, you would not look so good now old man. I can say that because you are older.
