HeyHey
Hi.......I'm planning to go to Ottawa for a few days the first week in March...Is there anybody out there that can give me ideas what to see, visit??, and if anybody knows of any resonable priced hotels,,,. Thanks.
Ginny Check out Ottawa bedand breakfast on the web. There are some beautiful places you can stay The cost is not all that bad. As for things to do there Locals seem to like to take my money and do things with it that I don't like ,but I am sure that there is more than that to do there.
i think what he means to say in hull or gatineau (quebec side)u have better accomodations at a better price and u r only 5 minutes away from downtown ottawa.but didnt realize u were travelling by bus. bim
ok thanks for the explanation /quebec side/ never heard this.......Since it is Ottawa I want to go to not hull.never heard that term before.,Yes travelling by bus,to Ottawa.I have 10 days off , thought I'd take 3 -4 days go to Ottawa.
Hey Gin Why don't you give a call when u are in town. Maybe we can meet up for a drink or something. Lots to see in Ott depending on what u like. Museums are great as well as lots to sight see. bring skates as I think the canal will still be open. Great fun there Roy
Here's 2 good sites for ya Gin. :-) http://www.traveladscanada.com/Ottawa/ottawa_attractions.htm http://www.journeymart.com/DExplorer/NorthAmerica/Canada/Ottawa/ I've personally seen the Science museum and it was awesome! As were the Parliament Buildings of course. :-) Have a GREAT time! I was privileged to be in Ottawa on Canada Day just before Quebec was going to vote on separation -- There is NOTHING in this world that can describe what it was like then to be standing there with 100000 other people in front of the Parliament Buildings singing O Canada! Brought me to tears, especially in light of the fact that my province was going to possibly be separating from the rest of our country. The concert with Burton Cummings there that same night was incredible too! :-) Luv, Sharon
Thanks rt......great stuff..now just to get your "number' to call u once I'm in ottawa.... lol,lol me on ice skates hahahah.must be 12 yrs since I used ice skates.
Hi I believe that the Ottawa Canal is the longest skating rink in the world. There are loads of things to do there....they used to have the ice sculpture contest, hockey games on the canal, hot beaver tails (kind of a hot cinnamon flat bread) yummy, and you used to be able to rent skates in case you care to take a skate. I left Ottawa about 10 years ago, but we used to really enjoy the winter activities on the Canal. Cheers, Linda
Linda...I'm not sure, but don't most of those winter activities end at the end of February? Ginny isn't going to Ottawa till the beginning of March she said, so I'd make sure before you go there Gin, if the winter activities are still on. Tho Ottawa certainly still has much more to offer! Luv, Sharon
Hi Sharon, Hot damn, you're right! Didn't notice the March timeframe. Don't know that there's much happening during March in Ottawa....except the fine dining, drinking, museums and the night life over in Hull/Gatineau. Maybe Ginny will give us the lowdown when she returns after her trip. Cheers, Linda
