David. Ever make it down to the annual Verdun Christmas Renuion at the Strathcona Hotel? Had Kevin Devereux and a couple of other ex-Verduner's now living in Burlington meet me in Rochester last Sunday for some golf and laughs. Always a good time...
Hi Glen, Not sure if you know me;I'm Dave Golding's wife. I was wondering if you could give me Terry Bethume's e-mail address ,(either at work ,or home)? In one of the pics from the reunions at the Strathcona Hotel ,I saw that Mr.Sutton(sorry I forgot his first name.I think it's Mike???). had on a green leather jacket with "Verdun" written across it. I was wondering if it was from Terry's company. If so; I would love to get one for Dave as a Christmas present!! Now.....I'm not sure you can give out e-mail address on this site,so this might be a moot point??? Thanks, Sharon
I would love a Verdun t-shirt myself. Where can one get one I wonder? Carole
Carole: I have a number that I have never worn. I'll drop one off on our next drive through Erin or at our next get together. Gord Gibbons
Hi Sharon: Terry Bethune lives in London, Ontario and his phone number can be found in Canada 411. I don't know if we are supposed to publish third party phone numbers on this site. If you cannot find it, let me know and I'll give you my number. As an aside, I am likely the only person from Verdun Connections that knows that your father-in-law was an "Average Adjuster". There really is no restrictions on posting information although I would not be comfortable if others were posting my contact information without checking with me first. Just a matter of sensitivity.
Hi Maggie, Good point! Thanks, Sharon
Hi Gord, Yes you are right! How do you know that??? Sharon P.S. I'll look into Canada 411 ,thanks.
Hi Sharon: I have been involved in marine insurance for 30 years. I believe that Herb Golding worked for Boyd Phillips in Montreal. Ironically, I went to a dinner last month hosted by the Average Adjusters of Canada. There are not many practicing ones left in Canada. It takes years of training, followed by a difficult set of qualifying exams. Good to talk to you. Gord Gibbons Brampton, Ontario
That would be great, thanks Gord. I haven't seen any replies about getting together for lunch. Have you heard anything other than on VC? Carole
Hi Carole: Karen and I had breakfast at Angel's this morning and then drive home through Erin. Unfortunately, I forgot to bring a Verdun T-shirt. Yes, we should get together for lunch. Our house is not sold yet, so I really don't want to host a bar-b-que in the event we have unexpected visitors. I did get an e-mail from Maggie and she is keen to go also. We are busy next weekend, so maybe the one after. Let's re-kindle under the Angel's in Orangeville thread. Gord Gibbons
Hi Sharon: Were you successful in contacting Terry Bethune? Gord Gibbons
Hi Gord, No, not yet. Guess I'm kind of shy?? Thanks, Sharon
Hi Sharon: Do you want me to call Terry. We can at least determine if he makes the jackets. Gord
Yes I'm up for Smoked Meat at Angels whenever. Margo Allen
Hi Gord, Yes that would begood of you. You are right,I'm not sure if he even makes them anymore ;or if he was the one to make them in the first place? They looked(from the photo I saw ) dark green leather sleeves and a dark green cloth front. The picture still might be on the V.C. web site .(the very last group of photos.) Thanks very much ,Gord. Sharon
Hi Gord, and Glen It wasn't Mike Sutton wearing the jacket;it was Terry Diamond...just wanted to clear that up(if it even matters??) Thanks, Sharon
Not sure if this is the photo in question re; Verdun Jacket,...but this would be easily replicated,....it looks like it has maybe Dark Green Leather Sleeves.?,,,,,,,,,,,,,......... This photo is the very last one on the last page & the last photo album,....................I can't make out what it says in the swirl on the end of the word Verdun,........ (sports something????) .............and Just one more question,.these pics are from the 2002 Reunion, and we haven't seen an updated picture since...........hahahahahah This year looks like it's gearing up to be the 15th Annual in the Strathcoan Hotel in Downtown toronto..............................Hope we get some pictures this year................................... HF&RV
Yup nice long message about a photo ,.......and no photo YIKES hahahahaha Here it is: Well I can't really tell wether it's Black or Green ,.looking at the picture again,................................but the logo looks like it's well done Have Fun & Remember Verdun
Hi Sharon: Yes it was Terry Diamond. I kind of think that it may have been an original Verdun Invictas jacket, in which case it would no longer be available. Included in that photo were: Jim Bulger / ? / Terry Diamond / Terry Quinn / Perry Hicks I'll give Terry Bethune a call. Gord Gibbons
Is it Perry Hicks that is wearing a "Verdun" T-shirt?
Hi Sharon: I talked to Terry Bethune and he advises that the Verdun jacket was a one of five of a kind and no more are available. He did say that he tried to e-mail you and was hoping that you would acknowledge its receipt. Hi Maggie: Yes that is Perry Hicks in the Verdun t-shirt. I believe that Perry lives in Nobleton, north of Toronto. Gord Gibbons
hi Carole, I wouldn't mind another "Angel sandwich". I had Maggie put our picture in the Verdun get together album. Let me know when you are up for a lunch and I am pretty sure I will be able to make it.
Hey Dave, This is Willie - and i live in Brampton. Still haven't converted me to be a Leafs (of is that Laffs) fan yet either. Hope wo meet up with you again sometime soon
Hi Willie, I'm hoping that we can do the "Angels" thing, but there haven't really been many responses. Check in General under Angel's in Orangeville. Hopefully we'll hear something by tomorrow or Sat. I can read messages when I'm at work but can't reply. Bye the way, good pic. Doug forget to press "save" when we were at Appleby's so we only have your picture. See you soon hopefully, Carole
It was a nice lunch last time. I hope to remember the camera again. Glad that I can hit "save" it just takes me forever to upload the pictures - LOL My mouth is watering for another Smoked Meat Sandwich
