The one and only time the Fab 4, played in Montreal,......due to death threats
the Beatles finished their concert at the Forum,.....and lesft immediately to NewYork State,........stayed the night and continued on with their tour,.
Odd that the state they escape to would eventually claim John Lennon in 1980...............
Now I know a few of you went to this concert,...(Winston wasn't your neice,at this concert too ?) ............in anycase I just came across this old photo (I posted it a couple of years ago???)

Les. Yes my niece Connie, who is a VC member, and was the one that got me involved on this site, went there. I remember her mother, my sister Shirley, telling me she was going. I thought who in their right mind would let their daughter go see these people. I believe Connie was 13 at the time. Litlte did I know, that not long after that, I went to that Savoy theater to see a certain movie, and cannot remember what it was. But, as usual it was a double feature. I went in when they were playing It's A Hard Days Night. I did not pay much attention, and of course watched the movie I wanted to see. Watched that movie, decided to stay for their movie.....That hooked me. I was a fan, and still am. Tahnks Les....

That's great I was hoping it would spark some memories,.... Neat to have those old mementos,,,,,,,,,, I knew a few people who got to go ,...but it wasn't me...........hahahaha and I recall seeing some evidence of a 'microphone' that was 'relocated' from the Forum ,after the show,.........and it resides in Verdun.....hahahahah Sandy that must have been a big deal for a young gal.....& I would bet you had some schoolyard stories the next day for sure............
Sandy, you too! Yep, I was there. I was sitting somewhere up there second to last row just before heaven and I swear Paul (my hero) looked up at only me and waved. I had a mad school girl crush on him! It was like crossing the sound barrier. Didn't hear a word or sound of music just these never ending screams directed to these 4 stickmen on stage (that's how they appeared from my seat), and when it was over, and it seemed to be over quickly, the silence hurt my ears! It was an unforgettable experience! Is that what you remember? Dolly
Winston: I remember going to see the Beatles VERY well. I can't remember if it was 1963 or 1964. Accordingly I would have been 13 or 14. Paid money and couldn't hear a thing with all the screaming going on but I am sure I was the loudest screamer of all LOL I went with Shirley Sauson. The one thing my mom never did know was that I told her I was sleeping at Shirley's house and Shirley told her mom she was staying at mine and we both camped out all night outside the Forum to get tickets LOL My mom must have used her charms for my dad allowing me to go though !!!! Connie

Connie. I was under the impression that your mom went with you to get the tickets, then took you there and waited for you. Shows how much I know. AND...your eardrums have never been the same. One of the reasons the Beatles stopped touring was because of the screaming. They had made enough money, and were tired of playing and not being able to hear their own music........AND THEN ALONG CAME YOKO!!!!!!!

She may have told people that but for sure Shirley and I went alone LOL I would have killed John if he pulled that on me. Connie
Apparently the afternoon show,.did not sell out,.......and consequently convinced the promoter 'not' to book the Beatles in Montreal during the 1965 Tour,........one of the reasons for not selling out the afternoon show ,.was it was the first day of school.........(according to one website) a bootleg album supposedly,......... here's the link http://rateyourmusic.com/release/unauth/the_beatles/montreal__quebec___september_8__1964/ .........................
Thanks Les for the nostalgia. Life after that was defined as before and after the Beatles. They changed the music scene, fashion, culture and society. I had several scrapbooks and every magazine about them that came out. I would hide them behind the bureau because it was a no no in our house. The most popular girl in highschool was from Liverpool who had the Beatles latest record and magazines before anyone else did. She even was the first to sport the Liverpool look with the bangs and straight long hair. Can't remember her name. Sandy would you? Although you were a y ear ahead of me, I can still picture her but the name eludes me. Dolly
