The year 1956 marks a turning point in the history of the Island: the sisters finally depart from the their property. Before beginning the second part of the Island’s history, it would be interesting to recap the first part. Let’s begin with 1769, the moment when the sisters of the Notre-Dame Congregation became the sole owners of the Island. http://images.google.ca/imgres?imgurl=http://www.maisonsaint-gabriel.qc.ca/fr/b/media/ile_des_soeurs_sepia/19depart_des_soeurs.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.maisonsaint-gabriel.qc.ca/en/b/page_b_5a_c10_19.html&h=354&w=550&sz=57&hl=en&start=12&tbnid=YuaSNgmCOh7ATM:&tbnh=86&tbnw=133&prev=/images%3Fq%3DIle%2BSt%2BPaul%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26sa%3DG .......................Holy Sh__ !! that is one long link (once heard by Mrs Maltby)

Jacques Lacoursière’s book promises to the captivating. With the painstaking care for which he is promises to be captivatin. Withthe painstaking care for which he is known and his skill at bringing texts to life and making them so interesting. Jacques Lacoursière will take his readers on a trip through time. From the dawn of history to our days, we will have an opportunity to learn unknown details about the history of this island and its occupants. ,.and here's a little smaller 'link' (heard by women ,a little more often than once)..........hahahahaha http://www.maisonsaint-gabriel.qc.ca/en/b/page_b_5aIleDesSoeurs.html
