Hi Steve   Toronto weather today is cold, blustery and partially overcast.  We had predictions of 5 - 10 cm of snow overnight.  We got nothing near that from what I can see.  It's what I call a Toronto snowstorm.  Lot's of dire predictions and then 2 cm.  It's when they don't predict anything we get hammered......and call the army.  Hey, maybe we'll get more today.   I remember driving to Montreal 4 years ago for a dear friend's funeral  (Paul Hein) and Montreal was in the midst of getting 45 cm.  Roads were a little narrower and on street parking was a hassle (what else is new), but we managed.  If that was Toronto......   BobB

I remember in 1971 or 72 when in March we buried my fater , it was snowing a bit , then the city of Montreal was closed the next day . Have Fun n Pay Safe Steve

I remember that storm Steve.  It took days for the city to get back on its feet.  I was married and living in an apartment in Rosemount then.  Everything stopped.   BobB

Hi folks, It's Monday, 10:30 pm, Comox, Vancouver Island and as I was going to turn the pc off, I glanced outside......   Sleigh bells ring, are you listening, In the lane *^%#@+ is glistening.   Yup, the fluffy white stuff is coming down.  Personally, I would like it better if it was rain, but.....   Have a good evening.  Salut!   Cheers.

Raining here Mom,....but I hear that our Western Communties,....Colwood,Langford ,..is getting some flakes,.but noothing serious,......roughly 5mi. from here,.but this is weird here it's the SouthernMost part of Van Isl.......the weather can be completely different in a ver short distance,.....we sort of get protected by the Olympic Range,...but even out at my brothers place ,again literally 15min. from my place,..they could be having snow,.....maybe we'll get a dusting, but it usually will disappear quickly,......However I just checked the webcam up on the Malahat Summit,.........and there's some sticking up there.         http://www.th.gov.bc.ca/bchighwaycam/WebCam.aspx?refresh=done&img=9 you may have to shorten the url,..but some of the cams may still show up,.although it's ggetting dark...................................  check it out,.if you like,.......but I'm with you Mom1945 ,...you can have my share,og the white stuff.........it would be a whole different story if I did live where they had a real Winter,....then you could have all the toys ,.& enjoy it ............................  --HF&RV--

Hi Mom1945-Linda, The last time I was in Vancouver B.C. was around nine
years ago, & it snowed a little bit then...The snow came down so very
gently, it almost spoke to me asking me to excuse it as it wasn't something
it was used to doing so far South.....lol....lol...I was home last week or
was it two weeks ago, anyway, Montreal Snow comes at you with a howling
wind, & gets in your face, & screams at you, "What are you doing here, I'm
here to blow you away"......Snow...Snow....Wonderful, Beautiful Snow......I
seldom Ski anymore, so I haven't much use for the Snow
anymore......Snow....Snow....Wonder, Beautiful, SNOW.....

Good morning/afternoon everyone:   It's beautiful and sunny up here in Comox, and all is right with the world.  We had several inches of snow this past week, so myself I would welcome some of the rain to wash it away.  But gosh darn, it's so cold that rain would make it a skating rink!   What's the weather like across this North American continent?  Is the snow staying in other parts of the country?  I just remember putting out Christmas lights/decorations at the beginning of December, and how pretty they looked reflecting off the snow.   Do people still decorate with lights, etc. outside?   Or is this a thing of the past?   Cheers.

Hi Linda and Everyone!

Here in Beaver Bank, Nova Scotia we are having a wonderful Fall, it's been quite mild, no snow as of yet, but we may get some later this coming week.
Everybody is taking advantage of the mild weather to do yard work and put up their Christmas lights, it is a big deal down here. People even decorate their yards/houses for Halloween!
We put up lights outside and I place a couple of large urns with boughs and winter berries on my verandah. I usually wait till end of first week of December to turn on the lights. I, personally don't like to see the lights turned on before December, and I get really exasperated when the stores start the Christmas season in September.
Well, that is my humble opinion!

Hi Linda, Here in Beautiful Southern Ontario today, The sun is shinning on
both sides of the street. However there is a West Wind that is furiously
COLD. All the snow that fell in the past week is of course gone. You see it
has to leave Hamilton On. before the week-end. That's the rule, doncha
know.......Camelot & all.......We have a place here called Fruitland, which
is to say we grow a lot of Fruit & the Vine for Wine......But, Snow, naw not
here.....

Clear skies here,.and the early afternoon was sunny,.......fixed all the extensions,.and all x-mas lights, are working,......and there are a lot of homes already decorated, and have been for a since last weekend,......I think more than I can Remember seeing,...So it seems ,that the x-mas spirit is alive & well across Canada so far,....from the responses..........I think Vancouver is having their Santa parade today,.....We don't go over board with lights,.....but one year Teresa thought Jill & I had turned the house into a mini-Vegas,.....( I think she liked it anyway,.......hahahaha)

Synerrgize (Norman)   You reminded me of a wine store out here on the island.  The name of it is "Come Wine with Us".  Cute.   But I got a chuckle when I started thinking about this......the name prolly should be "Come Whine with Us" cause a lot of whining seems to be going on lately on this board.    But Santa has a list, checking it twice soooooo I'm going to try and be nice.  But if you see a little trickle of blood running from the side of my mouth, it's because I'm biting the bullet.  Got to be good, got to be good, got to be good!!!!!   I guess up here where I live, there's a lot of old hoots who don't decorate for Christmas.  We do, got the lights up on Wednesday.  On December 1st they went on.  Woo hoo, tis a pretty site, so nostalgic.   Cheers

Hi Sandy:

Yes we know the MacDonald's very well. Our kids are about the sames ages and went to same schools and Claire and I were on the PTA way back when...and now my husband and Peter are working together on a committee to raise money for our new medial centre....it is a small world....Dianne

Hi Sandy....I meant new medical centre, and Beaver Bank is not a very big place, but it is growing.

Are you from Verdun? and how do you know the MacDonald's?
My husband is from Verdun but I hail from Cote Saint Paul....What is your last name, next time I see Claire and Peter I'll mention you to them...Dianne
