Norman, There is a much better way to send REs such as this STROKE one.
Highlight the meat of the joke etc. Copy it and then paste it to a
fresh email then send it to V.C.
I go a step further. I paste them to my word processor and remove all
those >>>>>> marks, and all those unsuspecting email addresses
attached. Just a thought.

The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I
can change.

Second Ave,   Perhaps you should accept others just as they are, and you might become a better person.  Just be thankful that they contribute to this site, and I might add, on a more positive note than you.

clenken again with a Knee Jerk reaction,.perhaps you should ask edbro (he must be beside you somewhere),..as to PC etiquette,..and perhaps re-reading things before you 'attack' someone..there was no attack that I could see,in the post ,.but what I see as a personal observation, showing some care for the possible feelings of another member................Lighten Up,......and don't worry about what has been removed in the past,....as I recall you weren't even here then (or were you?)..     Have Some Fun,...and Remember Verdun,

Whoa! Back Off People! The comments made had nothing to do with the content of the e-mail (if anyone took a moment to read it!) Help/suggestion was being offered to teach/educate someone who obviously is not a "pro" with their computer, and not many of us including me, are! This is part of what this site is about, helping one another whenever possible.   To continue with the education theme, here is a dandy EASY little program when used will get rid of all those "annoying" > arrows> and such, and will straighten out long disjointed sentences into proper paragraphs. I use it all the time, and I can literally take a very badly written page and have it straightened out within 5 seconds. It's a great little program I keep on my tool bar.   I sure hope we haven't scared off a potential member   Art   http://www.papercut.biz/emailStripper.h   Art

Hi Bob, That's weird! I can get on that site but no sign if the Mail Stripper program. Maybe it's not available anymore (FREE). However, I am about to try and attach it to this e-mail and hopefully you can take it this way. It took awhile but it looks like I got it attached. Let me know if you get to receive it. Art

Sorry I shook a hornet's nest.  The only point I was trying to make is exactly what clenken said......people may be scared to post,  in case they get second ave upset.   Personally, I have an 89 year old aunt who sends me email, with all sorts of marks, comments, addresses, etc., but I am so darn glad just to get mail from her that I don't care what it looks like.   Now I agree with second ave that if it was sent to his own computer via email then he has a reason to delete the message, just as he said he does.   And Art, you don't have to SHOUT to get attention.  That's just plain rude.

Linda; It is great to hear of seniors using computers. My Dad is almost 82, lives alone (in Verdun) and will not touch a computer. He thinks they are evil?!?!?!?!  I asked him to explain that, but he is too hard headed...I don't take after him.  I am constantly printing him things off of VC and other sites that are of interest to him, but can not convince him to try my computer. Maybe he is afraid that he will get hooked. To me a computer can be a ''friend'' if you are alone a lot.    mpu

clenken,   I believe that you are the attacker here. I find your defensiveness of SecondAve's ( Bill's ) post weird. I find it confrontational to say the least. For a person who has only been a member for less than 2 weeks. It sounds to me like you want to stir the pot. And SecondAve has had no problem in the past speaking for himself. If SecondAve had found that Mom1945 had made an attack and stated so, your post would have been warranted and your opinion would have been better received. Try to remember that we are all guests here and are free to come and go as we please. This group is like a room in Maggie's house and whoever she has incharge when she is not present should treat this like their house and if people are yelling and throwing verbal stones they can turn it off whatever way they want, even if it means deleting a topic all together.  Danny   This post is just the opinion of the writer and in no way should be considered the opinion of the managers of this site. The deleting of this post will not result in the writer leaving the group.

Danny; I could not agree more with your reply. I enjoy the Verdun Connections group very very much, but there have been a few times recently where I was not comfortable with some of the exchanges, and especially where I saw some people being ''abused''. I do not feel that VC is a place for this. Once again, my sincere thatnks goes to Maggie & Les for an excellent job (you too Sharon).    Ralph.

Hi All,  I have always found our group to be very pleasant and respectful to each other. I truly enjoy reading the posts. And hope that Maggie, Les & Sharon can continue to keep the crap where it belongs. Any recent decline in the membership is not going to effect the outstanding quality of our group's membership. So be it. Danny
