Steve, About 8-9 years ago I took a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon.  Absolutely breath-taking.  Going back there in the Spring '06 so will check this out.  Thanks for the lead.

We have a condo in Mesa Arizona so we will be going there for Christmas.  My husband would like to do the walk in and stay overnight at the Ranch and walk out - they say hire a mule to carry your stuff it is well worth it.  I am sure if I show him this picture that he will want to stop and take pictures - not me thank you very much I would be afraid that they would let too many people on and that thing collapses.

I dont do suspension bridges very well - we have a couple here in Calgary and we visited Coaticook when we were in Quebec in July - their suspension bridge is over a gorge - DH went I sat on the bench.  I am fine if I am the only one on the bridge and go slow but usually a bunch a kids will come running over the thing pounding their feet as hard as they can to make it sway.  I WILL NOT be going on that contraption over the Grand Canyon either nor will I be walking down into the canyon and walking out.  I will tell DH to leave me at a motel that is near a shopping center and I will see him the next day.

Hello ShirleyBH2,........I  can appreciate someones'apprehension at anything related to heights,......but I really like that sort of stuff,....it's alot of fun,....and it's no more dangerous, than shopping at your local mall..........but I guess it's not for everyone,...but even in the CN Tower they have a plexi-glass ( or glass floor) that offers you a chance to see through to the ground below.....but  I do have friends who also want no part of things like the skywalk,..........I guess I just don't get the same feeling ........You probably wouldn't have wanted to come with me this summer ,when I flew up to the Comox Glacier,..after having taken the rear door off the plane,.so I could video tape,...and take pictures of my excursion,..lot's of fun   ( but Teresa wouldn't go with me either,...she chose to sit on the beach, and wait for me to get back..........hahahahah   Here's a link of the Capillano Suspension Bridge,.in Vancouver,......it's not really exciting ,but worth seeing,......and yes some people like to get the bridge swaying a bit,....but are usually told to stop............Check it out if you like........   http://www.capbridge.com/        Where are the ones in Calgary that you mentioned,.I cannot think of where they would have one......but I would like to try it.........   Have Fun & Remember Verdun
