Sounds like you are living in their back yard. Maybe you should plant a fence before you replant your trees?

http://www.northerngardening.com/deerproducts.htm   We had two moose wander over at the back of our house early afternoon - one was limping.  We also get deer and planted some small but beautiful pine trees - they all have no tops now.

Hi Maggie and Shirley, fench out of the question since we have a covenant about tall fences. Shirley added the site you gave me to fav. will try some of those things. Maybe i should get a bow and arrow and fill the freezer, but my hubby is not a hunter. Patsy

Deer... Small firecrackers work.. If not a 30-06 and 22 shells ought to do it or a BIG Bob Cat or Mountain Lion...I heard cat urine works too.........   If no luck try the 30-06 solution and make venison burgers......   HEy Pat check the 1959 VHS site in about two minutes.

Hey Patricia
Try calling the Humane Society .
They will tell you the legal way.

Apparently playing a Celine Dion record is very effective.  It is legal, although by many it is considered cruel.   BobB

Before our area was estate homes it was the former owners pasture land.  Last year while my husband was riding around on his John Deere he found a pretty fancy arrow.  Of course I was thinking some kid got a bow and arrow and lost an arrow but it sure was pretty fancy.  There is like 3 acres of land between our house and the nearest neighbour - then we were at a BBQ last summer and this guy said that his job sees him coming home at all hours and that one night he drove past our place and these guys were hunting - can you believe it.  This is 2 km past city limits all estate homes and every one has dogs well lots of us do and I have 4 little ones so they are not out at night but the neighbours have dogs that could be.  I used to chop up and pitch apples that were no longer crunchy and throw them for the deer at the back of our house where there are no trees so I guess our place was popular spot.  You are not allowed to discharge a fire arm so that is why these guys had bows and arrows. Sometimes my bichon barks his face off in the night and sometimes my tiny maltese growls from our bed - perhaps they heard something.  I like the idea of the water hose and the thing that shoots water at them - it doesnt waste much water 2 cups so they say and you could be watering the grass or whatever. Sensor lights might work too.
