...............................There were some very Happy people all over the World,
as Germany officially surrendered,to old Dwight,.............and the Hell of 5 or 6 years was finally over again,...................
However the news sparked a riot in Halifax ,by over exuberant service men,.(most likely a few lunatics ,ransacking & robbing stores,.and just generally taking advantage of the situationn)..................certainly not indicative of most of the People of the Time:

Les, the reason for the riot and looting was because the Halifax mayor of the day decided to close all the taverns in the city and the people were upset that they couldn't celebrate the end of the war. So what the mayor tried to prevent he only made worse.
I guess that shows ,that the old grey Mayor,.ain't what he used to be,......... sounds simple enough to say,..but regardless of the reason,.......Your not supposed to Riot ,Burn,.loot,.& Rob,...because the stores closed.................hahahahahaha but I hear you,.................................now I have to go downtown cause I saw a suit in the window ,that I just have to have............ hmmmmmmmmm Where's that brick................hahahahahhaha No Wonder stores want ot open on Sundays back there,.they are tired of having to replace their stock every weekend,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,hahahahha
May 8th,.the Surrender contiues from yesterday's date,............ May 8th Victory Europe.............
