Hi MaggieMck,.this is a good site,....I've found many of the Montreal pictures here,..but itseems that they've added several more of Verdun,.......Thanks for posting that,.............there are some really old pictures from around Montreal as well,....the whole site is pretty neat,....I think it was JMH who posted some Montreal shots of buildings a year or so ago,of the Montreal,Light ,Heat &Power,...building that got the ball rolling for me to look all thru this site,..Some good Stuff,......JMH if you read this,.....under that link that Maggie posted,.there is a picture of the Bank of Montreal,.on Wellington btwn Church & Hickson (N side),..that was right beside the old tram building (I think) Did you ever find a shot of the original building (was tram or power co. or a power building for the trams??)Maybe Guy can find some info on that part of Wellington,,,,or some old photo's Fresco must Remember that building ,he seems to Remember all the routes & stops of Montreal transit stuff................. Thanks Again Maggie , have fun & Remmember Verdun
Hi Les ! I have never found a photo of the old tramway bldg* (demolished) that was located at 3980 Wellington. The bldg of the Bank of Montreal at 4026 Wellington is still there. Rem. these 2 bldgs were on the S side of Wellington. * the last challenge not yet resolved !!! JM
Thanks JMH,.& your right I just re-read my post and incorrectly typed (N-side) .....why I don't know.........hahahaha Just not thinking I guess,......There must be a picture of this building somewhere,......and we'll find it one day I hope,........Here's an old shot of aome Montreal area trams /bus'sI know we've seen it before,.but it's a good picture I thought ,so I thought a return appearance was in order.......hahahaha Have fun & Remember Verdun
Maggie and Les ! I have forgotten our other challenge still not resolved: a photo of the laughing cow in front of Elmhurst Dairy on Upper Lachine Road. JM
No your right JMH,..but I have not forgotten our five year long quest to find a picture of those 3d laughing cows heads at the old Elmhurst Dairy ( although I think it was Sealtest at the time (just in the old Elmhurst Dairy bldg......) I am sure some one will come across that old sign one day,..............hahahahah
I was disappointed that the "Old Stone House" did not appear in their "Old Homes" collection. In fact none of the 100+ year old homes in Verdun are there. Can anyone tell me if the old "Knights of Columbus" Manse is still on the River side of LaSalle Blvd near Willibrord? It was an impressive building that used to host many wedding parties and the one side was used as a seniors home.
Jean-Marie, Les, I wish you guys nothing but success in your five year quest to find The Elmhurst Dairy Cows. There's a lot at 'steak' here and that's no 'bull.' I find your whole project very 'mooooving.' Fresco
