Hi, Welcome to VC. I enjoyed your recollections of Verdun. When I went to Verdun High, 69-72, there was a Bonnie Brunke attending. Any relation ? Laurie
Hi Santiago890 (Barbara)....... You wil most likely find someone here who knows your friend,or something about them,.there are a lot of people who read this site's messages,.So Good Luck , & Welcome of course ,........ When you mentioned Banna Splits & or Strawberry Shortcake,........my favourites in the growing up days ,.......Thanks for reminding me of that old treat,............ as little kids it was something to go to the Dairy Queen & get a Bannana Split,,,,,,,(then keep the container ,as it made a pretty good boat......hahah)... as for stawberry's I loved Shortcake,.or Sundaes,.or Milkshakes.........anything Strawberry was fine by me,...................Good Timing too ,cause here in Victoria,Vancouver Island we will be having the Strawberry Festival soon,,,,,,and I guess I'll have to get some.................hahahaha Aslo I am pretty sure we have a few members who either live in or did live in Plattsburgh,...................and some who now live in Florida ,so you may have some success finding her,....I would also suggest you checkout the Point Saint Charles site (linke to it on your right hand side of this page) or just 'click here' http://www.homestead.com/indexgwm/GWMcRae.html then while on that site ,...post a message in the Guest Book ,asking for help ,& you will find them helpful too,.. George McCrae & Wesley Dryden are the ones to email ,..or just a message to everyone in the Guest Book,......... Good Luck Barb,.......................Your first message here ,will no doubt stir some memories for many of us,..........I guess we all walked that long walk to Lasalle,or the powerhouse,..and ate those Steamies,.& Fries,..........etc etc .... mmmmm I'm getting hungry already, and I haven't had breakfast yet..........hahaha ...Have Fun & Remember Verdun

Greetings - I worked at the Northern Electric on Shearer Street too. It was my first full time job and I was making the huge sum of $35.00 a week....wow! I started off in the mailroom on the 8th floor in the fall of 1956. We had a ball in there. Every hour we had to wheel our grocery store buggies to all the departments delivering and picking up mail. I think after about a year, I got a BIG promotion(?) to the Accounting Dept on the 3rd floor and was there until I left to move to Ontario in 1958. Good memories! judy in NB
Well hi Judy I think we were there at the same time
I worked in the filing dept on the 8th floor and then in Stock records . i
do not think that i made that much money even when i left . I was filing but
we spent a lot of time shooting paper clips at the guys across the floor.
Thank heavens for the dress shop across the street or i would not have
had too many clothes to wear. i think it was called new York Fashions Barb

That URL I sent was a movie site for the film 'Canadian Bacon', with John Candy. A very funny and talented Canadian. I was surprised to see Michael Moore produced and directed the film.
The CN Tower was definitely in the movie.
