Me and my American hubby will be in Montreal for July 1st this year and I wanted to share the whole Canada Day Parade-piece of Canada's birthday cake-Festivities and fireworks at the Old Port experience with him.
I have shared enough Independence Days with him, now it's his turn...lol. But I can't remember some things, like:
What time does the parade start and what route does it take?
Just where is it exactly that they have the huge birthday cake to share with everyone...or do they even still do that? Hope so!
Anyone have any info for me?
Thanks!

Oh! One more question too! The Old Port usually has a free concert on Canada Day/evening. 3 years ago it was BLUE RODEO and it was an awesome show! Anyone know if they still have a concert there and who might be showing?
I know that they do have a big day up on the hill (Parliament Hill, that is), with lots to do around the city, all day. In the evening a big laalaapaloo of a concert. So if you can't find anything locally in Montreal, you might try Ottawa. Cheers.

Hey, I'm excited too. That's when I'll be starting holidays for 2 weeks. Not to make us older in a hurry, but I hope the next few weeks zip by! Clc
Hi Sharon this is your friendly neighbour from Osborne, Mad. Well no one that I know even knows where the parade is or has ever gone to it but this is what we do most of the time...........THere is a huge celebration on the boardwalk; near the Natatorium and one further along near Lasalle (bishop power) bands play, people "camp out" and there are lots of things for the kids to do, and fireworks are the best part. Hope I helped, I would say I'd see ya then but actually im doing the reverse, going to BOSTON for the July 4th celebrations............... but maybe ill see ya.......till then take care!
