Mike, I finally got ahold of my brother. He's been feeling ill --
stomach flu . He said Mrs. Forbes died the year you guys were in her
class. Bob was sent to Woodland school after grade 7, because VHS was
full for his 1st year of HS.

Hi Bill, Sorry to hear that Bob isn't feeling well. He's right she died and Mr. Fabb took over. She was the best teacher we ever had,,,,she challenged us all the time to think in different ways,,,,even took us on a field trip to a French church. We were sure lucky to have had her!! I'll look for those photos. By the way, you married a gal by the name of Diane Reiter,,,was she any relation to John Reiter? Mike
John Reiter could have been my ex wife Diane's younger brother. Diane
had two older sisters, Barbara and Beverly (both deceased). John lives
in B.C. and Diane in Calgary. was John in your class?

hey bubba, have you thought about posting all of your class of '59 photos to a website? It may help you find more of your classmates as well. Have a look at the one I did for my graduating class. You can do yours simpler to begin with. If you have a Yahoo ID, you can have a free website to work on. http://www.geocities.com/mag_mck/index.html

Bob where are your photos posted? I looked on page 5 of the albums and
'Verdun High 1959' isn't there.
I cannot click on the url at the bottom of your post either (mac user).

Bob, to allow for easier access to the photos, you might try posting them (requires uploading) to the picture albums. I think there is already one called class of 1959. Another option is to post them in an online photo album (yahoo, MSN. Ofoto) and then post a LINK in the link section here at Verdun Connections.

Message for second ave Bill... Are you one of two brothers...Billy and Bobby Cooper who lived between Verdun avenue and Wellington on Second avenue?Did your Dad work at CNR.?Our Dads were very good friends. If you are... do you remember a young girl who used to come and stay at your house sometimes after school when her mum worked late.Your mum used to make me pancakes with jam...to this day I only eat pancakes with jam! Bobby and I were confirmed at St Clements together...our teacher Miss Martin from Bannantyne school belonged to St Clement's and helped us get ready. I live on the West Island now...since 1980... but every three years or so I visit Second avenue and always walk by your old house and wonder if your mum is still alive.I love to walk down the old back lane...so many memories when I used to play with the MacGillvrary kids...Catherine and Timmy who used to go to the Catholic School on Willibroad avenue. Hope you are who I think you are...My cousin sent me a pic and that is how I found this site...and you!
Carollinda, What is your full name,,,,we could have been in the same classes,,,,Bobby Cooper was in some of my classes too! Mike
Hi there...Bobby and I were never in the same class...don't remember your name...what teacher did you have in grade seven?CL
Carollinda, I had Miss Forbes in 7th grade, she died halfway thru the year and we finished the year with Mr. Fabb. I had Joan Minto, Irene Henson, Donnie Vickers, David St.Louis to name a few, in my class. What was your maiden name? Mike
I had Miss Martin in Grade 7...i remember a Joan Minto...did her father own a store in Verdun...and when I went to high school I was friends with Irene Henson's sister. Did you go to Bannantyne School...I still have my Bannantyne School tshirt...and my Verdun High School sweater..with the crest on it....guess I am "alittle" sentimental!! So happy to of found this site...hoping to find some "old friends" here. I have an old pic of my kindergarden class...must dig it out and post it here. CL
Was that Jeannie or Carol Henson? You still didn't tell me your last name? Mike
I knew Jeannie...do you know where she is now?
yes,,,she lives close by here in Vancouver. I speak with her pretty regularly. Mike
