Your so right about walking along Wellington St. but one of my favorites was walking along the boardwalk, even if the shad flies were out. I lived on Manning so I would walk down Manning to the Boardwalk and the next stop would be the Pav and a salamie sandwiche. They certainly were the good old days.
Ray Norman and I lived in the pointe, andevery night we'd walk out to the Pav, and back to fith ave to tassis, then back to the Pav, yes the salami bergers were great Chuck
Remember you only had to put up with the Shad flies when you approached one of the Boardwalk Lights......about every 10 th Pillar or so...........and if you sat on your front gallery you could often see the bats flying over the street standards to eat up the bugs (and in some years you could look down into the streets to see the 'Bats' getting rid of some of the two legged Bugs.....................hahahahaha
