Verdunite who made good

I would like to come up with a list of Verdun personalities who made good in the world, wether as musicians, actors, comedians, sporstman, politicians, businessmen, war heroes, etc., French speaking or English Speaking. This would tie in with my association with the SHGV, as promotors of History and Genealogy in Verdun.
I will start off the list with:

Musicians:
Maynard Ferguson, Trumpet
Bill Monroe, Piano

Politicians:
Lucien Caron, Mayor, Deputy

Sports:
Scotty Bowman
Don Marshall
Dollard St Laurent

Businessmen:
--Alepin

With a membership of 500-600, our collective memory should come up with a very large list so lets see how many we can add up.

I think "Bucky" Hollingsworth played hockey in the NHL?   Chuck Catto (of Pt. St. Charles) managed in the NHL.   Jimmy Mann played for the Winnepeg Jets  (NHL) don't know that he ever became "famous" except in the hearts of the people that grew up with him.

Although I Remembr this guy from Lasalle,......he's listed as having been born in Verdun.................................... Richard Martin Born: July 26, 1951 Verdun, Quebec Member of Team Canada 1972, Canada's Team of the Century Set a rookie goal scoring record with 44. Combined with Gilbert Perreault and Rene Robert to form the feared French Connection for the Buffalo Sabres. Injuries forced him out of the game early. Scored 384 goals and 701 points in 685 games

Don't know how true this is,....I have heard this before,..However I thought I'd heard differently ,somewhere along the line too: Maurice Richard Maurice "The Rocket" Richard was born on Auguest 4, 1921 in Verdun, Quebec, Canada. Richard came through the Montreal Canadiens system and broke into the NHL in the 1942-43 season. Injuries plagued "The Rocket" throughout his career, including his rookie year when a broken ankle limited him to only 16 games. The thought of quitting came to his mind, but Richard persevered and made a recovery and returned to hockey in the NHL. In 1944-45 Richard scored 50 goals in 50 games establishing a single season record for goals   perhaps someone with access to Church Baptisimal Certificates or records ,could verify.......??

I also believe  Susan Orr ,...is from Verdun as well,........... she used to be a TV journalist,.....was it for CTV (toronto)??? ..................just a side note, but Bryce Mackasey is listed as having been born in Quebec City................

Yvon Robert.............. • Yvon Robert was born on Oct. 8, 1914, in Verdun, Que. He considered becoming a blacksmith but instead learned wrestling. He earned $25 for his 1932 professional debut at Montreal's Mount Royal arena. Six feet tall and 230 pounds, he was muscular but very quick and nimble. His signature moves included the figure four arm scissors and the drop kick. Walter Young.................."Boston Marathon Winner " Most people acquainted with the retired Walter Young either don't know or have forgotten that he once reigned as champion of the Boston Marathon. maggiemck MSN said...

I don't know much about them. I think they moved away in 70 or 71. The kids didn't mingle with us. Some were Picards and some were foster kids, As a kid it upset me to see the mom clean fish by "our tree" (it actually was mostly on their property).

Hi Joan,  I spent a lot of happy days and some nights at your home.  We had lots of laughs with your Mom and Dad who were very special people.  Please say hi to all the family.  I spoke to Lorraine the last time I was home and got caught up on some of the news.  Think of Carole often and the good times we had together.  Take care, Bev.

Not to be a "wet blanket" and understanding that unfortunately we in our society sadly define success or "making it good" in a narrow money/fame/talent  context ,I need to salute all those ordinary Verdunites (and others of course) who led normal lives as hard working exemplary mothers and fathers and who quietely handled all the "crap" life can sometimes hurl at us and produced/created  responsible/caring children  of which we and society can be justly proud.   In so many cases as is the case in a number of the names noted in this thread, these people may have "made good" in that narrow sense but any cursory look into many of their lives shows clearly what a wasteland their lives were regarding family, fidelity, responsibility etc..Of course there are a few who attained greatness in both their private and public lives.   Here's to all those great/responsible loving but relatively anonymous un-hearlded "heros" that  to me have been the best examples of "Verdunites who have made it good."
