By coincidence, I took the enclosed photos yesterday at the foot of Desmarchais Boulevard, including the Crescendo Restaurant. There is an Icecream restaurant on the left attached to the building.
Also a photo of the Guy Gagnon Arena.I am told that there is no more skating there and that it is now a Circus school to train circus acrobats. Unfortunately I have noticed ugly graffiti on the doors. The city apparently wanted to cut costs since the Denis Savard and Auditorium arenas are sufficient for the declined population.
Also, note that there are still some boats attached to the wharf and the cute little bridge over the road to the Marina and wich is part of the boardwalk.
Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate as the sky was overcast and it started to rain.

Thanks Guy ,.nice pictures,Nice to see the changes after all these years,.there used to be a kids playground at Desmarchais & Lasalle Blvd btwn: the old boardwalk & Lasalle Blvd. just east of the familiar Redtop I've seen pictures of this bridge before,it seems to be directly inline (roughly) with an old service road that the city used to keep landfilling along the river, there was at one time a little white shack (guard house type of thing),with a chain across the road way..... I have a photo of it somewhere,I'll try to find it. This woulld have been around 1970?? Thanks for your input & time to share these pics.......... HF&RV

Thank you Les ! Great research, great results JM
Now that looks like an expensive bridge. I do know a bit about ship's aluminum gangways and they're just as costly.
