THANKS for stopping by, I do my best to acknowledge when someone leaves a comment, you do not have to be a member here & everyone is welcome.
Ps: This site is monitored but not actively posting on a regular basis. Mostly these are stories & some photos saved from a defunct site known as Verdun Connections which was on MSN Groups initially then on a social network called Multiply.
Hi mags,..those big cement sewer pipes /drainage pipes,....were common in a few parks around Verdun ,.in the 60's,..certainly the park behind the police station,....as well as a park on Desmarchais near the old VHS,........Remember as a kid it was a right of passage to be able to jump and be able to get on to the top of those Cement Tubes................hahahahaha I think they were even painted those multi-colours even then.............................. HF&RV
Yup! I think I got my very first kiss in one of those...lol. The one behind the police station on Lasalle Blvd. the tallest/most agile one in your group used to boost everyone up on top of the "tunnel" and then get on his/herself. The park on the boardwalk near Desmarchais still had one of those the last I looked.
I knew you would know it Sharon. I took that picture just before the demise of "Parc Richard" behind the fire station when I was there in 2001. I don't know if I ever got up on top without help from my friends.
