THANKS for stopping by, I do my best to acknowledge when someone leaves a comment, you do not have to be a member here & everyone is welcome.
Ps: This site is monitored but not actively posting on a regular basis. Mostly these are stories & some photos saved from a defunct site known as Verdun Connections which was on MSN Groups initially then on a social network called Multiply.
Sandy, I don't know if Popdog is refering to another type of Aluminum Foil Helmet, but there is some interesting reading to be done on this link.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tin_foil_hat .....there are other similar sites if you look for them, but this is a better one..............................mpu.
Walter, wasn't the store on Church and Wellington called Marshall's? There was another store too I thought on the opposite side of the street where the Dollaramma is now that had a cafeteria in it with stools (not booths) was that Woolworths? My fond memories of that were after walking up and down Wellington on a Friday night having an ice cream sundae, in those tall glasses with whipped cream and a cherry on top. They were the best....
I recall three names for the 5-10-15 cents type of store......Woolworths, Kresges, and Marshalls. I don't know for sure but I think it was Marshalls on the other side of the street, and there has been a photo on Verdun Connections....give me a few minutes, and if I find this picture, I will be back with it.....mpu
