Pte J.R. (Rolly) Costigan, Wounded, WW2
I found the enclosed notice from the Guardian dated Nov. 9, 1944 at the SHGV yesterday. He is no doubt related to Allan Costigan who died in a motorcycle accident in the late fifties. Can anyone enlighten us on this.?
Bonjour Guy; I find the SHGV has some very interesting articles, pictures, and I would be interested in visiting sometime. What are the opening hours during the week, and are they open on weekends? What I would like to check is whether I could find a similar listing for my Uncle Ralph Piercey who was killed in Holland on April 5, 1945, at the age of only 17 years. He was the son of Jacob and Clara Piercey of 842-6th avenue in Verdun. Any info would be appreciated. Ralph Piercey
Ralph, If your uncle Ralph Piercey was from Verdun, his death will most likely be mentioned in the Verdun Guardian and we do have the 1945 editions. Here are the visiting hours of the SHGV: Monday 6 to 9 PM Tuesday 1 to 5 PM and 6 to 9 PM Wenesday 1 to 5 PM and 6 to 9 PM Saturday 12 to 5 PM I am there every Saturdays and if you visit on that day, I will be pleased to show you around and do the research. Guy
