Only three words
now this will be new subject , only three words allowed I will start
VERY FED UP.......with very slow, poor quality of m.s.n. (most slow network?) today. I have lost messages, photos, and now my patience, will try again in a few hours. m.p.u.
Dianne, I agree that all three photos are very nice. I also like dogs, I have a monster, that not only says what she wants, but has very sneaky ways of getting what she wants also. I also have three cats, and a budgie, hence the reason for me having once created a discussion called ''For Pet Lovers Only''. m.p.u.
I remember that discussion and I posted Sassy Rory's picture back then.
Here is one titled 'Les Girls' . It is my daughter with her dog Tawny and my dog Rory.
Over the years we've had all types of pets from scally ones, to feathered ones and furry ones. I'd love to have a cat but my husband is way too allergic to them. ....Dianne
Funny ,you say that Mom'45,.....I cleaned the windows on the back of the house (west side),.and now when the sun does appear,.we can see it through the windows,.........hahahaha got rid of the winter rain spots,...now the rest of the windows on the house will have to be done,......I just cre4ated work,....but it's funny how when the Sun shines it seems to give people renewed energy....... in a month or so it will be time to re-stain the fence,....and the trim on the house.........Thanks for making me think of all this upcoming work.........hahahahah Sorry Wrong Topic For Three Words
Mississagi River Valley Before the days of hard top roads, indeed, even before there were roads, the Mississagi River played an important role as a transportation route for both natives and Europeans. Since then the river has become unessential for transportation, but important as a source of hydroelectric power. Thus, the Mississagi River dominates the lives of those who inhabit its valley. The settlements in the Mississagi Valley are representative of the growth and (sometimes) demise of many Northern Ontario communities. Being rather remote, most of Northern Ontario wasn't settled until the later decades of the nineteenth century. The towns in the vicinity of the Mississagi River Valley, such as Blind River, Iron Bridge, Bruce Mines, and Thessalon were founded in the 1870's. This was in reaction to government promotion of Northern Ontario as the new frontier. Such promotion doesn't seem to have lured many from the Old Country, but many people did leave Southern Ontario, which was becoming increasingly crowded. The history of the Mississagi River Valley is dominated by the nature of the area. This is because the natural environment dictated the type of industry that could succeed in the region. And, as this section demonstrates, industry is an important factor in the history of the Mississagi River Valley settlements. Steve
I voted last Sunday with my better half because she is in Cornwall. I look forward to try to watch some of the coverage tomorrow night...............IF I can stay awake.....
Hi POPDOG,..........I wish I could take that tour I like the building aspect ,and I 'd take progressive photos showing the progress,..........very interesting stuff to see,.....too bad you weren't around when they built the PVM. that would have been a good project.to see from beginning to end.............Good Luck & Work Safe ________________________________________________HF&RV
I worked at P V M , installing elevators for Otis, was there for two years, then went down the hill to Place Victoria , you can not imagine how cold it was on the top of those buildings in the middle of February with no walls, just open floors , setting elevator machines on Steel Beams , 50 floors up , The Place Victoria was the coldest job ever, the wind just blew down Beaver Hall Hill , hang tough Jimmy
Jimmy, you sure brought back some memories when you mentioned how cold it was installing the elevators in the PVM and Place Victoria. I think I still shiver at the thought of it. Was sorry to hear of the passing of Chuck, I had a lot of nice memories of him. On my last trip up to Montreal I had the pleasure of a visit with Charlie Canning and hopefully on my next trip I would enjoy seeing you. Take Care Bob Archibald
I was in Ocho Rios, Jamaica two years ago on a one day stop on a fabulous cruise, and the tour guide told us that in Jamaica you would be understood if you remembered only three words: Irie ( everything is great) Yaman ( yes to either man or woman) No.problem ( there is never a problem-if something is wrong there is a situation) what a great place to visit. m.p.u.
THE BEST THREE WORDS I CAN SHARE WITH YOU IS ------------------- "CHUCK'S STILL ALIVE." I was visiting with him in July, and just spoke to his wife Norma today, and he is still with us. He is frail, but still joking, and smiling and also just had his 65th birthday. Norma had over a hundred friends and family drop in to celebrate it with him . Chuck's doctors call's him his mircle patient. I use to live next door to the Chuck and Norma Canning, before I moved to Kelowna BC, so you can imagine the shock it was for me to read in VC written in April, that he had passed away, since I had been with him in July. I just want to share my three special words, and that is " HE'S THE BEST" ( Joyce Pedder)
Maggie. Please read #303 of the subject "Only three words", and you will understand why I wrote what I did. I felt it important to share the good news to those who know him. No one wants it written that they have gone , when they are being such a truper fighting to stay with us. Joyce
I think it was Chuck Catto , Chuck Catto , Chuck Canning and I were very close friends, and I still am with Charlie Canning , I know and love the guy , we are elevator people , so sorry, must have been Chuck Catto , and yes he died in the spring, Jim Nairn , hang tough
Hi, Everyone, I checked the previous threads before posting and didn't see these three words. Maybe they were in threads now deleted, and my apologies to the writer if they had been. These three words were taken from a poem written this weekend. Verdun: my hometown Happy Thanksgiving, Jack
Thanks Joyce for the info on Chuck Canning...glad to hear he is still alive..My brother and Chuck ( senior) use to have a beer together and talk elevators business...How is his health today..I presume you were talking about Senior Canning.... John
