I'm hoping to go to Canada at some point this summer and was checking the calendar here to find that Canada Day (July 1st) falls on a Thursday this year.
Can anyone tell me if Montreal will hold their Canada Day Parade ON July 1st and people don't work on that day but go to work on the Friday...or if it will be recognized on the Friday instead to make it a long weekend and the parade will be on the Friday or Saturday instead too?
It'll help in my pla-making to know.

sharon here in halifax area, the parade is held on july 1 and everyone goes back to work friday. pat
Same in Montreal and also out here in Calgary much the same as in the states - July 4th is a holiday regardless when it falls - many will take an extra day if the holiday falls on a Thursday in Canada but for sure it is a holiday but the stores are open.
