Bannantyne School X-mas Play (The Grinch)

Does anyone remember the (Best ever in my opinion) Christmas play "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" from Bannantyne School grade 7 in the early 70's. It featured Kevin Macarthur as the Grinch (I believe Patty Purcell had a small part also) & was directed by the grade 7 teacher Miss Cragg. As a kid in grade 2 or 3, I was so entertained & always had a fond memory of that performance.

Earl.

I wasn't at Bannantyne for grade 7 so I don't remember that. I think Kevin and I were in the same grade tho and the same age. If you are the same Earl Cooper who I'm thinking you are....You'll remember me as the girl who babysat you and lived just next door hahaha Are you? Is your Mom one of 15 kids in her family? Was it YOUR grandfather who was known to say "I have a new FORD every year?

Hey Sharon                    I just sent you an E-mail to your Hotmail acct. Check it out.   Yes Les, that's the Kevin Macarthur. He was also a great boxer (boxed on the same team as Dave Hilton, Patty Purcell, Billy Dunlop etc.).   Earl.

Hey Sharon, I noticed that Mrs. (Ruth) MacArthur's maiden name was Edwards, is that coincidence or are you related? I thought the red hair came from the Bennett side.

Yup, that would be the same Kevin MacArthur! Let's not forget his sister PEBBLES too! I always thought her name was SO neat!   Got your email Earl, thanks! I'll reply after dinner when I have more time, k? Just getting dinner on the go here actually!   Mag...nope I'm no relation to the MacArthur's - just coincidence, I guess. My red hair came from my Dad, Maggie. And my grandmother, Dad's mother, had red hair too. The Bennetts were either very dark brown/almost black haired like my mother and her brother, my Uncle Wayne (my grandmother/their mother was very dark haired) or BLOND like my Uncle Ronnie and Uncle George (my grandfather/their Dad was blond) My Mom's sister and youngest brother were her step-siblings from my grand-mother's 2nd marriage...

Hi Sharon I had forgotten the name Pebbles,.but right you are that's what they called her ,they also had an older sister too (I think?) older than rustle, etc etc I Remember when Mr MacArthur came home with his Brand New Country Squire Station Wagon,.complete with the woodgrain sides.............a new car was really something in those days...hahahahahha    It's been a Good Day for memory bank prompting,................... ....anb it doesn't surprise me that one would become a boxer,.as all sports were encouraged in that family,   I Remember playing football with all the kids in the neighbourhood, and we often skated on the rink at the French School on Galt (that JMH attended) Ecole Richard (I'm guessing now,but I think that's the right name) there was also a gal named Lindy Lee ( another fair size family I think)  and she was as tough as anyone............hahahahahahha                      Have Fun & Remember Verdun
