Looking For Old Friends aka: Whatever Happened to what's their name

Diane , some of the names you mentioned in the 'Testing' thread by Guy,.I do recognise, Wattie for one , as there were many from that family, but if you join this site, you should be able to see a 'green plus (add) sign' at the top of the page btwn 'shop and Invite' ..you can start your own thread/ topic from there, you can add things from your computer as well,..... We are all just learning this new site ,.so you & all of us are on relatively equal footing./...........  Experiment away, and if you don't get a response right away, then post again,.We spent just over 6 years on the other site , and it was a steady process of asking some stuff again & again, but it allowed people who just surfed by to see that they were welcome to jump in & participate or to just read all our stuff.... and the theme that caught people's attention was always one of a Verdun / Montreal story's & or photos of days we all Remembered. So Help us build this one with some of your stories or pics, & also ask for help along the way, You can be sure that if someone knows or has a suggestion they will always try to help you.

Watties
Jimmy is still living in Verdun. The last I talked to him he was on Wellington near Willibroad.
His brother Dave died and his brother Russ is somewhere near Toronto.
His father was still living the last time I saw them at my mother's wake.
Our Aunt Vera is living in Lasalle.

Thanks for the info Stephen. David was my childhood friend (we were the same age), Russ was the eldest and Jimmy "the baby". We lived on the third floor at 676 third ave and they lived in the flat below us. Remember Mr & Mrs Wattie well as they lived in the same place for my whole time in Verdun.
Would you believe my parents moved into their flat when it was brand new and stayed until my Dad passed away some forty plus years later. Diane

Thanks for the encouragement Les. I'll give it a try for awhile, but I'm new at this blog thing. Have received info on the Wattie family from a member and now wonder if anyone knows the whereabouts of Sandra Crawley, Billy Rodgers, Marilyn Gourley to name just a few.

Small world isn't it Stephnen! I remember one winter as kids David telling the "gang" that he could fly like Superman!
So we all told him to jump off the second floor and prove it and he did! Needless to say he broke his leg and his mom Elsie was absolutely furious! We all thought it was very funny.

Diane, Sandra Crawley & myself walked to elementary school together (St.Willibrords) when we were kids. Sandra's Mom and my Mom were friends also. The 35 years later my boss at work was married to Sandra's aunt..what a small world this is! Have no idea where the Crawleys are now. We lived at 818-3rd..

Sandra...The Crawley's were our next door neighbours on the third floor all my life in Verdun.
I stayed in touch with Sandra until I left for Australia 34 years ago...last I heard she was in still married to Cal Strike and lived on the South Shore (don't remember the name of the suburb, but I think it started with C). Billy Rodgers lived on the other side of Sandra and Gail Page, next to Billy. David Wattie and family lived below our flat...surprised to here he passed away. My Mom and Mrs Crawley plus her sister who lived below here used to work parttime in the spring together at a factory at the end of Verdun Ave. Do you remember Sankis and skating at Willibroad Park?

Say hi to Jimmy and his Dad from me Stephen. I used to live above them at 676 Third Avenue and have lived in Australia the past 34 years.

Thanks Stephen...I barely remember Jimmy as he was the youngest in the family. David was the one who used to be part of our "childhood gang". I assume Jimmy is not well if he's receiving treatments....it sure gets scary hearing all the sickness and deaths occuring with people around our age! Having moved to Australia so many years ago, we've been shielded from most bad news from our pasts.

Not sure of this new Multiply site,so I hope you receive my reply....oh yes, Sankis...remember we would chage a chocolate bar at Sankis, and get hell from my Mom when her bill arrived at month end!! We skated at 1st ave park/willibroad everyday after school, and on weekends..such great memories,eh? The last time I skated was 4 years ago, unfortunately I forgot I was old now, and tried to do the tea-pot and the figure 8....as I humbly collected pieces of my body off the rink after that....

Steve...Was 820-3rd a bottom flat ? I recall back in the late 40's and 50's when we lived at 818 ther was the Quesnel Family below us, I think the Father was a policeman, there were 2 sons Pierre and can't recall the other name...I do recall tumbling down those 18 stairs whilst trying to carry my bicycle downstairs, only to find the Quesnel boys watching me fall down the ruddy stairs....oh ,how embarrassing that was back then.........(smile)
