Bob Snow
Joey-Verdun:
I did not find the Bob Snow incident in the Guardian nor the VHS Annual Book for1963-1964-1965-1966 but I did find a Jack Snow in the 1964 Year Book. Any relation ?
Hi Guy,..I'm not sure ,but I thought I Remembered it being around 1966,.....I did live right around the corner from the Snow family in those days,..and I moved on Nov 1 st 1968, and I think that event was a couple of years before that: Interesting to read the yearbook ,The snow family all loved the river,.and knew it quite well,.they also had a pigeon coup ,up on the roof,.and did have a lot of racing pigeons,.....They loved the outdoors,...my sister hung around with Wendy Snow,.....&I also remember her older sister Qwen,.......their also was another brother Bobby,.........but I don't Remember the others, off hand. You certainly have a good memory Guy,.as I think these were topics from some time ago........Thanks Again
I found an "R. Snow" in my VHS yearbook for 59-60. In the pic below, front row, on the end. Could this be the fellow? Sorry bout the quality of the picture....guess it's about time to get a new scanner, eh? Cheers.
That is most likely Bobby Snow,............ I also seem to Remember the family used to go duck hunting down by the river too: ...... How's it going up Island Mom'45 ,.........it's been great down here,..but a few clouds popping up and a little breezy ,.....but all in all pretty nice for Oct 1st: Thanksgiving coming up soon,.....and then Halloween, YIKES.................hahahahahaha Christmas soon after that,........
Hi Les_F A real nice 'AUTUMN' day up here. Sunny, but definitely cooler. Still hoping to catch a few more sunny days (to get out rving). Hallowe'en.....Christmas.....are you daft boy!!!! Much better to let them sneak up on you than go around announcing them. That way it's still SUMMER even if we have to wear heavy jackets, hahaha. By the way, I remember the whole school talking about the Snow boy who drowned, so I'm thinking the '61 year sounds about right. Cheers.
Hi Guy, Jack was Bob's brother. He also had a younger brother named Gregor. I have attached the 1962 yearbook picture of Bob. I think the accident was the same year he graduated or the next year. Hope this helps. I lived just down the street on Gordon Ave. Rainydayman, I went to Bannantyne school with Gordie. He was one great baseball and hockey player!! Where is he now? Mike
Hi, I am Jack Snow's daughter. I was looking around to see if I could find any information on my dad and I came across this message. I noticed that there were pictures posted here, but the links no longer work. If anyone has yearbook pictures of either Jack Snow or Bob Snow could they share them? My dad died today 4 years ago and it would be nice to see a new picture of him from his youth. Thanks. ns
Hi NSnow , I will try to find some pics for you, I will have to look in some really old hard drives, since we posted all these topics over 10 years ago at least. I knew your family as they lived right around the corner from us, they were on Gordon Avenue (near the lane ( CKVL was just across the lane from them.) Our back galleries sort of looked towards each other. If I find some photos I will post them for you. I just monitor this site periodically,as it technically is not really active on a daily basis. I just wanted to save most of the stories & photos, too bad a lot of the links are no longer working right. Maybe one day I will fire the site back up, as I do get a lot of daily traffic with people surfing by & just coming across things when the Google Verdun or Montreal stuff.. Cheers ! & thanks for stopping by & commenting .....-Les
